Heads up anyone thinking of going later in the year.

BA and AA indirect Man to Las as low as £323.

I have just booked my regular week for Dec. Booked through AA.

These prices start late Oct through mid Dec. These prices never last long.

    Hi Guys,

    I'ts been a while.

I went Vegas with my now Ex GF a few years ago (brilliant advice last time from here for that), my mom has always wanted to go & now I'm taking her for her 60th from 22nd November until 27th...

I've booked via BA website for the whole trip, it was actually the cheapest and I could use my BA Amex to pay for it.

    Questions....

Its moms bday on the 24th, so mid trip :

Chances of upgraded flights (anyone got any hints for BA)?
Chances of $20 tip working again for fountain views?

Mom's a little rock chic at heart, any shows which you would recommend, I seen the beetles one last time but hopefully I will take her to that & I know 'Tallica are on if I want to go.

Any little hints and tips I would gladly accept, I want to make it her best holiday EVER! :money:

    **EDIT**

I'm now going to be 31 when we fly out, not 21 :( haha

Hi, to try and answer with my previous experience. As far as upgrades go unless you are a VIP or an elite member with BA chances are slim unfortunately. Even as a oneworld emarald I never received any upgrades with BA. Other oneworld airlines I had better luck. It does no harm in asking but don't be dissapointed. Why don't you treat your Mum to world travellor plus if it is in your price range?

I don't bother with the 20 trick I just politely ask it sometimes works with a better room. Maybe a 50 will give you a better chance.

You say your mum is a rock chick, well if metallica are playing that would be great. I know steel panther have a residency at the house of blues maybe worth checking if they are playing. I saw them last year and although on the blue side it was a good show.

There are plenty of tips on here and resources on the net. TripAdvisor has a las Vegas forum also worth checking.

    Good luck with your plans

Another suggestion as a surprise to your mum why don't you try to arrange a bottle of bubbly to be given to her on the plane or delivered to her room in Vegas.
  • Thanks, I was able to contact hosts. We were going to get a daybed at Drais for $300 minimum spend which I thought was ok. Then they hit us with 36% tax, so now I'm not so keen!

Is it worth hitting them up on the day to see i they're doing any offers? I don't usually do day clubs because we usually in go July when it's too hot for me to be outside for long! :rotfl:

Try https://www.jackcolton.com maybe? Usually good for clubs but probably in the forum there you'll get some help.

Edit - actually if you look at the day club section that might help.
I ended up with a good host contact last year for nightclubs. My original enquiry was for Marquee but he could sort us out at a few others too.
  • Check your BA app for upgrade offers closer to the time of departure. BA will sometimes offer an upgrade from economy to PE for a couple of hundred dollars per person.

That is a great price for anyone who can get up there. It will work out slightly more direct with the airline. Even taking a punt with an OTA at those prices, a bargain.

I am not averse to flying say from Dub or ex EU to get a cheaper flight but to get to Inv for me would work out more expensive than the Man option unfortunatley

We are 2 adults looking to go to LV in Oct or Nov this year and are looking for a 2 bed 2 bath apartment with kitchen. Does anyone know if any of the properties on the strip have this type of room, or are we going to have to move further out?

    Thanks

we stayed in Staybridge Suites about half a mile from the strip (had split the trip with a few nights at the Palazzo first)
  • Has anyone been to raiding the rock vault at Hard Rock Hotel? The reviews on tripadvisor seem good but I don't always find that the most reliable thing to check. I really wanted to go to O at Bellagio, but prices have gone right up for next week.
