crazycatgirl wrote: »Hi guys,
I'm new to Swagbucks and trying to work out how to build up my SB balance. Any tips please??
I've filled out all the surveys I can (although most of them say I'm not eligible, which is really frustrating!!) and I've watched a few videos on the app.
I signed up for a lottery thing, but quickly discovered it wanted to take over £18 from me as a subscription! So I cancelled it - I'd already paid £1, which they wouldn't refund, and I won't get any SB benefits for going through the whole sign-up process (insert angry emoji here lol).
Anyway... any tips please folks, or advice on where I can look for more advice, if there's already a 'start-up with Swagbucks' post somewhere??
Thanks! Happy earning!
The link to the guides has already been posted although in most cases now the rewards have been reduced.
Swagbucks has been going steadily downhill for ages, paying less and often wanting more done at the same time - one of the best examples of that is the videos on toolbar TVfrom the original 10 videos for 3 SB they have in stages now moved out to 105 videos for 3 SB (paid at 35 for 1)
iSpy which was a possible 15 SB weekly is now just a possible 15 SB monthly
The mobile apps now pay a maximum of 34 SB compared to 70 SB (for several months they paid up to 140 SB and bonus rounds where you could earn even more were quite frequent with the old limit but they are very rare now).
The number of different sets of watch videos has been slashed and those that remain require more videos to be watched but without any increase in the reward.
Swagcodes a year ago were averaging 36% more than now.
The total amount on "wins" for searching were probably anything up to 100% higher a year ago than they are now.
As to surveysThe surveys are very bad payers compared to going direct to the survey sites and that is without taking into account the number of times Swagbucks fails to pay or screens out very late.
The £1 per 5 mins (sometimes better) which can be had elsewhere equates to 32 SB per minute (paypal) so the standard 10 min peanutlab surveys should offer 320 swagbucks upwards not the 29 they actually do
Many of the "discover" sign-ups are best treated with caution and if you have an e-mail address for junk it is best to use that if it is not an offer that requires your swagbuck e-mail address.
That said if you use the mobile apps , games (swagrun/jump), swago and pick up a few bucks elsewhere you will be able to get £10 to £15 a month in Amazon for almost no time per day - it is when you start to go beyond that the time per buck earned increases disproportionately.0 -
I wondered if when anyone is doing a survey do you agree to this

I have not had it at the start but had a survey sometime ago where it would not go through with the full postcode
that worked, otherwise try with/without the space - some sites only want the first part and the first character of the second although they usually say so.
Thanks mjm3346 for the ideas, unfortunately doesn't solve it for me. Part postcode or without a space just gives an error message "please enter a valid postcode", but even my full valid postcode won't take me forward in the survey...0 -

If anything these survey websites have LESS info on you because they're run by a bunch of muppets who don't really know much about how the internet works, they just buy turnkey website and script solutions. They're usually years behind major websites in terms of analytics and data harvesting because theiy're small fry.0 -

Is there anything unusual about your postcode? For example, I seem to remember that the Norwich ones, being the first in the country, were in a different format. If that is the case, could you select a postcode from somewhere near you which is in the standard format, and use that instead? I'm sure they only use it to check out the socio-economic level of the area you live in, and that sort of generalised stuff.0 -
Whew! With only a few hours to go, I have finally achieved a survey through the Answer App, and submitted my Swago. At the outset, before realising that the Swagbucks App was no longer acceptable for this purpose, I completed a survey through that, but of course the Swago square remained unmarked. I have been checking the app several times a day (I normally never use it) and almost always there is nothing there, even if there are Gold surveys available via the web site. The handful of ones which did appear all screened me out, apart from one which refused to play the sound needed for the speaker test. But finally this morning I found a survey there, and was able to complete it! I think this will be the last Swago I bother with; there is no reason for them to make it so difficult, when one used to be able to use the Swabucks app or even the mobile browser. They only do it to annoy!0
