I’ve had a day do Christmas shopping (online) and then went to a quilt show.

I will be going on a weekend sewing class in December. I’m thinking this could be bought for me as a Christmas gift. The asses include all materials so yay.

Haha sorry hit send too soon I did buy a pack of curved quilt pins they are on my christmas wish list. Felt it was better to buy form an independent vender rather than amazon.

Nothing made. Boo. But still a nice day. ����

I have yet again had to undo the baby blanket.Something I have made many times before;something that usualy takes me about 4 days.

Using apples like no tomorrow but they don't seem to be reducing in amount.

SO I have caved and bought a new sewing machine. It’s been being saved for for ages. It was a bargain and half price. New in box but second hand. Very powerful juki.

Since if arrived I had been too anxious to use it. However last night I did and it’s AWESOME!!!!!!

I still haven’t made anything but I’m happy that I will be using this soon enough.

I have more bad plans to go to the scrap store in Sheffield tomorrow too. I’ve never been and it may be a bad idea but I’ve decided to no longer fight it. Haha.

We’ve bought a load more jars to make apple and mint jelly and plan to collect apples tomorrow. Yay. I love foraging in the rain.

I hope you’ve all been more restrained than me and more productive too.

I NEED to know the details of the scrap store in Sheffield.I don't live too far away.in fact my eldest daughter lives in Sheffield.

I have finished the blanket.
Made 16 more things, some orders from the craft fair and some for me to give at Christmas. I wrap chocolate oranges in brown paper and add pipe cleaner antlers,googly eyes and a red pom pom nose.They look very effective and dont take too much time to make up.
I have also made 6 green pom poms.I need to make them a felt party hat crown each and stick on some googly eyes. These are party sprout Christmas decorations.They sold out last year at a fund raiser for the Salvation Army that I am involved with.
I have also started making up some Christmas snowmen.These are sticks of chocolate from Aldi with a white label wrapped round them and a hat made from the end of an knitted glove and a pom pom glued on top.Previously I drew on eyes,nose and buttons but might use some tiny googly eyes I have left from a mixed pack. 30 of them will be for the class of 5 year olds I help with at Christmas and another 20 for the Salvation Army thing.
I have started knitting myself an airforce blue scarf in 4 ply.

I am still wading through apples,the end is in sight.

will call the Rudolphs 1 as I had to buy more eyes and brown pipe cleaners to finish them.

I haven’t made anything. Big have high hopes for my weekend. My partner is away so I am hoping I will be really productive.

Well I haven’t made a thing this weekend yet. My partner was going wild camping but it was called off because of the wind.

He then decided that he would hitch along with my plans and I managed nothing all day. It culminated in a row when he knocked the back of my knee as a joke and left me in a grumpy mood and in pain all over. Yay.

Today I plan to mend three items on my new sewing machine.

I then intend to finish two cushions covers.

I’m also planning to make a pattern for a leather handbag. It will be red and in my head amazing.

I’ve deconstructed a wall paper sample book with some beautiful papers in it and have started to cut up some squares for a quilt too. I’m half way there with the square cutting so will hopefully finish that today although I’m not sure what pattern I’ll sew them in. The fabric was free from the scrap store so it’s just going to be simple squares and then I’ll practice my quilting.

Apples have been juiced for apple and mint jelly. There will also be some green tomato relish made later today. I’m hoping to set off some sloe gin this week too. My mil made piccalilli and has sent some over.

There will be jams being made too. Not sure what fruit I’ve got in the freezer but it needs using and berry bombe jam which is frozen fruit from Lidl and is always amazing. The jams may be next weekend.

I need to get into town to get my nails done this morning and we’re having lunch at the mil’s as she is still not mobile due to her knee op. So I hope you’re all busy and that it’s dry where you are. 🦄🌈

Up to 242 / 500!

Made 7 jars of apple and mint jelly - I love this stuff on lamb and pork. And just anything that has roast potatoes on it. Yay. One of them was enormous for my sister in law she also loves it.

Also made making 7 litres of spirits with various fruits. Yay. This will mostly be for gifts and Christmas but I do have a very small bottle stashed form last years sloe gin that I may partake in this week.

My plans for the day are to make a laptop case. All from stash. It will have batting in it as padding and I’m hoping will be a cinch for my new machine to sew. My work laptop bag is a nightmare so this will resolve this as an issue I hope.

I have a million other plans too - but am hoping that if I aim for just one thing then I’ll achieve it.

I have finished the lap top case. Whoop whoop. It’s not perfect but it’ll do. It has taken me hours of work. But well worth it.

Next on the cards a massive tidy up in the craft room. I keep clearing other areas and stuff just gets dumped in it over and over again.

After that I want to make a lined leather journal.
