Christmas tree skirt finished.Whilst buying the gold braid for round the edge I did buy a piece of green Christmas material which I hope to use to finish something else off.
I also turned some trousers up and mended a blouse whilst the sewing basket was out.
Next I will make linen napkins from a white tablecloth I bought from the charity shop a while a go.

Well done,I have failed:o
Went to my friends today with a bag of scraps to try to decide on colours for a 3 kings wall hanging.Decided on golds to match my sittingroom but I only have 3 materials.Went to a local mill shop and found nothing but did buy a fat quarter with reindeer on!!!!!
I have decided to shelve the napkins for the moment.
I also took some patchwork squares with the Christmas material I bought last week and some dark green velvet. The squares are from an embrodered table cloth that my great Aunt made many years ago.I took the plunge and cut the table cloth up and will repurpose it into a christmas quilt. The embroidery is Holly and Robins.I have decided on the style now.It has taken me a long time to get this right in my head.
I did give my friend some snowflake material but she gave me some ribbon and some velcro.oops.
RL has been getting in the way this week and have not had the time to do any crafting.

I bought a £1 dress from the charity shop which is a beige colour with a gold sheen.I have spent ages unpicking it and it will be the background for the 3 Kings wall hanging.Trying to have minimal spend to get stash used up.
Used a ball of blue DK for a charity scarf with pompoms.Have started a matching hat with another ball.

I'm back. I lost my craft mojo and health declined. I think I've made 5 more things so new total 16/35
I spend a lot of time in bed at the moment and would like to do some hand stitching in bed. Things I'd usually sew on the machine I'd like to hand stitch. Maybe a Christmas stocking, but I just don't know if it's practical. Any advice or ideas please xComping for christmas xThankyou to all posters0 -
A stash buster thread, just up my street! I'm determined to not buy anything At All for a good few months....or even a year!
I made a practise applique flower picture out of a curtain that I'd had for years and the background was an old pair of bright blue trousers my daughter no longer wanted.
Now onto a much bigger picture using a canvas that's been knocking around for years, and also using up larger pieces of my stash. I will not look at fabric shops....I will not....
Would put a photo up but not sure how on my lappy.0 -
I am embarrassed to say I had to buy wonder web to make a start on the 3 Kings wall hanging. Not started yet as we have been away. Thats the trouble with using stuff up ,you don't have everything you need to finish a project.
We have been away so not much crafting done.Didn't take any with me as I thought I should give my arthritis a rest. Didn't stop me from buying a frame for an embroidery I plan to make for my daughter for Christmas, but it was only 50p from a car boot sale, new in box.
pennib, that sounds interesting.I would love to see pics and post them too but I am very poor with technology. Anybody got an idiots guide?
magical,I made some handsewn Christmas stockings a couple of years ago.I prefer hand sewing. They were quite a simple pattern.Think it was from a magazine. They turned out nicely.I picked up some old blingy brooches from the charity shops to decorate them at the top.Which reminds me I have several brooches ready to make more stockings!
I am half way through knitting myself a cardigan but I am not feeling it.Don't know whether to finish it or undo it.

I have been really slack. Not made much. However I have big plans for this week.
I need to sort out my craft room and get my sewing machine out.
I have caved and bought some stash. I planned to go to the knit and stitch show last November and due to work couldn’t make it. So at the quilting show this August I had managed to save a rather large amount of money. (I save all £5 notes that I get. Thought this would be a couple of hundred a year. Some weeks it can be nearly £200. I probably need to rethink this moving forward). - Including ticket and food as well as travel I spent less than £100. I then rediverted some of the rest of the money onto a new Washing machine as our old one had died a death.
I intend to at least start making the quilt of my dreams. I will count each block as one as I don’t think I can wait until I have made the whole king size to add one to my total. As I go along I will also be making some little bits such as bunting I intend to make some for Christmas stocking stuffers.
I used to post some pics through photo bucket. But now you have to pay for that service. I think you may be able to post links to Facebook? I’m Not really sure that’s safe / appropriate though????
