Well so much for no damage ...just went to check on the bins to find the side gate has been ripped off :(
bit windy was it then? ;) No damage in my garden thankfully but i did move my wheelie bin to a more sheltered spot at the side of the house. We had thunder and lightening a few miles away though i slept through it myself.

I have been congratulating myself on solving the log in problems with my bank by deleting cookies for the last few weeks. I now can't log in to Yahoo or access e mails

Decided to stop trying to fix it till tonight after I come back from library volunteering. A grocery delivery has come and a pot of soup is simmering on the hob, washing had been cleaned and dried, dishwasher unloaded etc.

On the way out later I need to collect some prescriptions and post a parcel for a dd. Just gone out to move the wheelie bin and someone has kindly moved it nearer the house for me so it was easier to drag into the back.

That illness sounds bad, make sure you take all the medication and stay warm and look after yourself.

I hope DH feels better soon. It is a shame he has to give up driving but better that than having a dizzy at the wheel.

I braved the bathroom scales yesterday as I want to lose some weight only to find the numbers kept changing  I resisted the temptation to look for new ones and decided to manage with the ones I have. I was tempted by some nice new slippers and they are on order but don't really need anything else other than some presents for youngest's birthday later this month.

    Hugs to all

  • I got in at the docs this morning as hoped and what a lovely lady. I haven't seen her before. She gave me a really thorough going over and agreed that I'm not showing typical signs of an infection. But she says in view of the time the cough has dragged on she would try me on antibiotics just in case. So it's fingers crossed as I really am fed up and worn out with coughing. But under strict orders to go back if they don't clear it.

We have eldest and youngest DGDs here for tea after school. Middle one is due very late after tonight's Panto performance. Then all 3 to deliver to school tomorrow. I really don't feel up to having them but don't like to let DD down.

Bye again and hope there is no storm damage for you. Our bird house blew over but not been out to check on it yet. xx

NMLC glad to hear some positive news.

Speky sorry the festive period wasn’t very enjoyable. Take care - don’t be going back to the gym too fast!

Csarina this is when you find out who your real friends are. Glad you managed to find a solution to the shopping problem.

    Hello all
I've had a lovely morning looking at 4x4 cars with Mr Fix It, oh deep joy...... not. It was bl00dy freezing going from car, to car, to car etc. Saw 2 that he liked, asked me which one I preferred, then decided he preferred the other one . Personally I don't care what it is as long as I can get in and out of it reasonably easily and it's not green :D.
We have had the gale force winds here too and it's also our bin day. The street this morning looked like a scene from the wild west, but it was plastics rolling down the road and not tumble weed :rotfl:. Our shed and the fences are still standing, so small mercies and all that.
Dad said he may turn up for tea today, or not. Anyway if he does we will have pulled pork rolls with chips, if not perhaps curry and rice out of the freezer. I'm easy either way.
Right the WM has finished, seems like it's on constantly lately, so I will put the washing on the radiators upstairs to dry.
Speky sorry to hear that you have been ill, but I'm happy that you are back as I've missed my football and gym fix :). ( your post is the nearest I get to exercising :rotfl:)
Dumpling well done you, hope Becky keeps on improving too.
TA hope the AB's work and you are fighting fit soon.
Elona Techie stuff is a marvellous invention, till it goes wrong. Then it's a pain in the proverbial. Sorry I can't offer any help but I couldn't even help myself in your situation :o.
Oh a quick question. Can I use soya milk to make an egg custard ? Got some soya in the fridge and I don't want to throw it away. I have a lot of eggs too. Thanks.
Hugs and good / healing vibrations heading towards those who are sad, worried, lonely or poorly.
Hope everyone is having a good Wednesday. Take care and keep safe and warm

I braved the bathroom scales yesterday

Well done you! The only time i get on the scales is down at the doctors and i choose not to look at the numbers. I gauge my weight on the look of horror on the nurses face... you know, the sharp intake of breath. Sod it, when i die, it wont be of starvation.:rotfl:

At home i go by how tight my bra and pants are...when they get tight i go hungry a bit.

My Grandaughter.... Proud to say she gets those rolls of fat from me. :D

    Hi everyone
We had the quietest New Year ever....just me and eldest DD but it was nice.
I too still have the dreaded cough and have done since the beginning of November...I've had antibiotics, inhalers, steroids but I'm still coughing fit to burst....and have a cracked rib from coughing so hard! Tired of feeling constantly sore and achy. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow, but don't have much hope of a magic cure. Eldest Dd has gone back to Leeds full of cold and with a very sore throat....she could have done with a few more days at home but has work to get printed and bound and then to hand in. I'm feeling quite fed up tonight as she's been lovely company for the last few weeks and I'm really going to miss her. probably won't see her till Easter now.
I took the plunge yesterday and booked a flight to Palma in the Easter holidays...staying for 6 nights by myself. I think I'll be fine....I can visit places the girls weren't interested in going to on previous holidays to Majorca, read my book and do lots of people watching.I 've found a little hotel in the old town I think I'm going to book.
Right, going to wash up and have a nice bath with my last bath bomb from Christmas.
