    Morning everyone

Thanks for starting us off Dumpling.

Csarina I hope that both you and your OH are feeling a bit better this morning.
Dumpling I’m glad that your dietician appointment was helpful and that Becky is doing ok.
FBO thinking of you and your family
JackieO my thoughts are with Frank and his family.
Judi a tumble dryer accident looks like the way to go.

I think today is a day for staying in. It is so wet and miserable out, not to mention windy. I agree with Nelski, roll on spring. I woke up numerous times during the night because of the storm and have only just got up now after dozing on and off.

I was trying to sort out the inside freezer yesterday. I don’t know how I manage it, but I never seem to be able to get much space in them. It seems that as soon as there is a gap I end up with more bits to go in there. At the moment it is all of the Christmas food that I didn’t eat and don’t want to waste. I also found a loaf of white bread, I think I must have bought it y/s to make a bread pudding but didn’t feel like making it at the time.

Going through last year’s expenditure yesterday was an interesting exercise. I want to have a closer look at it today and see where I can make some savings. I am determined to cut my outgoings this year, but I cut back fairly ruthlessly last year so it isn’t going to be as easy now, but I’m sure that if I try hard enough there are savings to be made.

Hugs to all of you that are unwell, I hope that you are all on the road to recovery. Take care of yourselves.

Have a good day everyone whatever you are doing.
  • Morning all, I'm late this morning.
It's windy here as well - there are the contents of what looks like someone's recycling bin blowing about, what a mess.

Glad your Mum is a bit better Nmlc
TA, yes go to docs, as someone else said you may have a infection. It's been a long haul for you.
Dumpling, you sound really upbeat, keep going !!
Hoping Csarina and her husband are improving.
Speky, you seem to have been missing for ages, glad to see you back.

All our decs are down and put away now, what a dreary business it is. When we get them out next year I'm going to go through them thoroughly and do some chucking out. Should have done it yesterday really, but was anxious to get them boxed up and out of the way.
Mr SR had done quite a bit on his own as i had a docs appt that took longer than I thought. When I came back and he'd packed stuff I couldn't face going through it then, anyway it's all away now.

Dgd will be coming this afternoon till tomorrow, she's pretty lively, so she will perk us up a bit.

No shopping needed today, so I won't be going out.

Hope everyone has a good day

    Good morning everyone.

Despite the yellow weather yesterday all was calm. There was heavy rain though it was really normal for here. Overnight was very quiet too.

TA - docs, definitely. Is there a walk in centre near you?

Dumpling - two pieces of good news, brilliant. And I’m in awe of how far you have come since last year when you wouldn’t leave the house, now you’re on three buses each way. :j

Speky - what a waste of the holidays. Hope you feel 100% soon.

Csarina - please get better soon too.

Even though I was watching TV until after midnight (Chimp Sanctuary) I slept all the way through to 8.45am. For a change I remember dreaming, can’t remember what about though.

Today I’ll be visiting the dump after doing clearing out of accumulated stuff. The recycling bag is full too. My life is just non-stop excitement. No-one has first-footed yet, the sheep havre retreated to the hills as the fields are flooded and high tide may bring more flooding.

It’s also monthly online banking time today. I usually do this on the second of the month but couldn’t yesterday.

I hope that everyone has a happy Wednesday.

ETA new grand niece is being called Willow Storm.

Well its a bit blustery out there :D...no obvious damage but one of my garden chairs has taken flight across the garden its staying where it is for now until this calms down. Also have to visit the bins at some point but im worried the bin AOD has mentioned may be mine :D

Nice to hear some positive news Dumpling well done you on your trip ...New year New you eh :) Speky sorry to hear you have been sick that was very bad planning time wise NMLC very good news about your mum Holly I have one of those magic freezers too...every time I take something out the space magically disappears.

Some work to crack on with today and will squeeze some house stuff in too. WM and DW on and need to sort a pile of paperwork I have been ignoring for a couple of weeks

Going to have an oat and raisin muffin for brekky (the ones they substituted at Christmas) they are lovely...would never have bought them but may well do now. dinner will be something with smoked salmon as I have half a packet in the fridge to use up

Right time for tea top up. have a great day all:A
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Very slow start for me, just got up and put a loaf on, OH is asleep, he is still on medication, think he will be better once he comes off it, makes him very sleepy, especially in the morning.

Friend calling at lunch time to collect a small shopping list for me, bread, milk and fresh veg, should see us through until next week.

I did think about ordering from Morrison, but decided against it I need to order at least £40 worth, do not really need that much. No point wasting money to order stuff I really do not want. The freezers will ksppu us going for at least another week.

OH finishes the medication tonight, so hopefully he will be able to sit up for a while tomorrow. I just hope he does not have another attack......I have no desire to see another one like Mondays. I think he will have to give up driving, its one of the things you have to inform the DVLA about. He will not be happy about that. It will also scupper our plans for May, I cannot see myself driving down to Cornwall and back. How ever we will see.

Nothing from my cleaning lady, so I am going to iron the pillow cases and one duvet cover......the sheets can go back on the bed creased, but I hate un-ironed stuff on the bed. There is also a pair of cords from OH that need pressing he sat on a chocolate and it melted all over this backside.

Off to think about some lunch.....................

    Morning all,
Judi a tumble dryer accident looks like the way to go.

Such a waste of money though. I hate wasting money. I'll just have to pretend its a lipstick i bought and didnt like the colour on me... thats the way to go. For now, i'll hide it behind his big thick coat in the wardrobe.

I think i did a bit too much yesterday, i ache all over. House looks tidy though.

Nmlc so pleased to hear of your Mothers improvement.

Dumpling happy to hear Becky is doing so well.

Csarina one day at a time.

Speky Sorry to hear youve been ill. Glad to hear your improving.

    Onwards and forwards,

    have a great day all.

    Morning everyone,

I ended up sleeping on the sofa as the hound was very unsettled with all the wind and rain,it was so noisy. She wouldnt walk very far when I took her out this morning & kept looking around.Lots of branches on the ground in the woods at the front but no actual trees as far as I could see ( but that wasnt very far due to nervous Ly1a :D)
Our recycling bins were emptied today and just as we got back 2 neighbours paper bins blew over so I moved them to a safer spot. One of them was on the phone in the window and waved her thanks-she sent me a CCard and wrote 'thanks for being such amazing neighbours' :D,and bought me some flowers for taking in all her parcels,as she's almost never in.Got to admit I was getting fed up a bit ,especially as I was under the weather. She runs a business from home and there could be 2 or 3 a day, plus my other young neighbour often buys clothes online and they come here too.

NMLC glad there has been an improvement in your DM, & that work are being good.
    Sorry youve been ill Speky.
Hugs to all the other poorlies too.

Went to see my DB2 yesterday,he's still off work due to the atrial fibrillation he had ,but he's seen the consultant and had lots more tests, scans etc and there is no sign of it now so they've put it down to the chest infection he had.He has to wait for the DVLA to respond to the consultants letter as he drives for a living. He was on the phone to Sis -I_L when we got there. She was ringing to say her work have refused her a day off when she is 60 in the summer :(,they were hoping to have a long weekend away,he will have his 60th too a month before her.As DGS would say 'Meanie pants'!

Not sure what to have for tea,did a tuna pasta bake yesterday as I'm shopping from my cupboards till DH starts his next job, though I didnt buy masses of stuff for Xmas.I'll sort my freezers too.

Hpe you have the best day you can xx
