Thanks julie! I did mutter something similar to myself, but when I'm coming on here and posting on my own diary, rather than chatting on others, I try to focus a little bit :rotfl:

Very chuffed by doing a little bit extra this evening, I've managed to finish the scanning of the family story/photo album my mum made. My sister has offered to house it (I loathe albums, so bulky for such little return!) so I can take it to her on Tuesay when I pop over. I can see myself making a book, of the kind that you can make yourself on vistaprint (Cheery Daffs did something like that), but not an album ....

Off to bed soon, just going to wind down a little more. Hope everyone sleeps well and rested :)

Oh that sounds wonderful! A pretty big task I'm sure, but also really lovely. Reminds me that I really want to start working on a holiday scrap book I started years ago again (pretty much the opposite of what you're trying to achieve here, clutter galore! :rotfl: I do love a good photo book as well though)

Oh, the other thing I think of to gee me up, and always have (i.e. its not about age) is how once the time has gone, its gone. Today, for instance, is the only Saturday 19th May 2018, the only one that will ever be, in the whole of this universe, everywhere. Is that 50th game of free cell worthy of it?

This is something I really need to work on - seizing the day! Not so much with computer games, but definitely time spent online/at my computer when I could be out in the garden, doing as Cheery suggests and living the country life where I am now. (Faffing on SBs for a pittance comes into it - fine when I can have it doing stuff in the background while I'm doing proper work, but not when I'm using it as an excuse not to get up off my backside!)

Glad you've all had a lovely weekend in the sunshine! Karma, I was down your way this weekend, and did mentally shout *hello* when I went past you! :D

It's a wonderful total, CBC - I know it's the estate you're slowly selling off, and I'm glad you're getting *something* from some of it.

Thanks:T. Debt freedom by the end of the year if it kills me:rotfl:

Strangely I didn't sell a lot of Mum's stuff today, nice though it was, and lots of browsers picked things up and commented on how nice things were. They didn't buy much of it though:(. I managed to sell some bulky old items of my own today which had been back and forth to a few car boot sales. This included the wooden frames of 2 chairs which needed renovating and new upholstery added etc. Definitely NOT antiques, just old and past it:o. Obviously a project for the buyer and I'm so pleased they've gone as they take up such a massive amount of space in the car and are heavy and awkward to lift in and out. I'd vowed that this would be their last chance and it would be the tip next.

I hope you and all your followers have a great week whatever you chose to do with it:beer:

I didn't remember that, beanie, how did it go? julie, it's the bulkiness that gets to me, reclaiming the house has been really important to me :o but if you enjoy your scrapbook, then thats the only thing that matters, literally :)

    :hello: Hi there :D
Yep, it makes you think. I confess I switch the tv on first thing in the morning, I've always got up very slowly, so to speak, and pressing the ncrave button is no hardship, so that does really well. I can always tell when I'm using it to avoid getting up and doing something, though, it has a different feel to it :rotfl:

By the end of the year, CBC, thats great :j You have a *lot* of energy, and your life will really free up when that energy isn't directed at debt freedom any more. Got to give yourself some time to relax after that, though - its been a long hard slog for you :(

Right, I need to focus a bit today.

    - already done some washing up.

    - Lots of SB gained, I can get a bit more very easily, and there's a YG too.

    - showers are expected, so if I'm going to do another little bonfire, it has to be this morning.
    - there are two phone call frogs, to workmen. I refuse to do either of them. This is cutting off my nose to spite my face, but I simply refuse.
    - I do owe a couple of rellies an email. That's doable, I can do that after lunch.
    - need to clean a pair of shoes, ready for the cruise. They've been a bit starved :o
    - more scanning to be done if I need another inside job, (inside job, ha :D) and there's also some letters written in the 1920s I need to find, which have been a source of trouble for the past twenty years, between my mum and some, um, acquisitive family members :(

That lot would be amazing! And since this is the only Monday 21st May ever, I need to get going again :) no neighbours have their washing out, I can get going :) oh, after I've checked a few communal threads. Diaries come later, sorry :o:o:o

Slog's definitely the word for it, KC:(. :o

I love your idea of taking some time to relax once I emerge from the tunnel. I just hope my frugal ways are so ingrained now that I don't immediately go mad and treat myself to some nice but unnecessary goodies. I'm not altogether sure that even after this debt ordeal I can really trust myself:o. I expect it might feel like being released from prison:rotfl:

My only real worry at the moment (all the other worries are just bubbling away in the background) is the new MOT which came into force on Sunday. It's much more stringent and my car is 16 years old:eek:. It still looks good although a bit retro;) without a speck of rust to be seen and it runs very sweetly too. So far it's passed every MOT with no problem but things must be wearing out that I'm unaware of and it's obviously not as efficient as modern vehicles. I was hoping to keep it going until all my debts are paid off but if I need some major repairs any time soon or, heaven forbid, have to scrap it and buy another, my debt payment pot will take a real knock:(

You're right, that's a real issue - learning that you can spend a little, is much more difficult than saying no to everything. But you're already aware of it, so that'll help.

I don't have any input at all for you on the car and the MOT, I'm afraid :( I have a driving licence, but I've never driven regularly, never owned a car :( I hope you find a way through all of that; get things seen to before they create other problems, I guess, is the only thing to say on it ...

I've done pretty well on my weird list today :rotfl::
    - washing up, yes.
    - SB, yes.
    - YG, no.

    - bonfire, yes :j:j:j I do love my little bonfires :rotfl:
    - emails, I've done one, the other's on holiday anyway :D
    - got the shoecleaning stuff out and put it all together.

    - scanning, no, not yet, though I'm not too concerned about that.

Hope everyone has a lovely evening, there's a lot of sun out there :)

Hey CBC, I just wondered when your MOT expires - I believe you can get it done up to a month early and they will give you the year forward from the expiry date (so up to 13 months), a bit like passport renewal (six months). If that works you could pre-empt the change for a year's peace of mind
