Right.  I deleted a big long post, and I'll just put up the bare bones, as it's a follow up to something I already wrote.  My auntie's death, and when her funeral might be, has been an ongoing topic of discussion for weeks now, especially about how to get there in covid-safe terms.  I just phoned the funeral director I knew they'd likely use and it took place on 14th February.  Really, really shocked.  I'm not telling my brother on his actual birthday, and I'm not telling my sister today either, she's up in London helping her son get ready to sell his flat.  I *will* contact the Norfolk rellies, we've been in contact with them about it.

Oh that's horrible Karma, how rude and unnecessary, whatever the circumstances, not to let you know. I don't blame you for not saying anything to your siblings today, given their own activities today. Hmm...

Thanks madvix - there are no circumstances between us, I'm actually the cousin she's closest to, they just have a weird secrecy thing going on - about holidays, about a divorce, all sorts of things, so that's it, I'm going to let go of my concerns about the family documents they stole from my mum, and just draw a line.  Norfolk rellies unobtainable, they're on holiday with one of their daughters, and I'm not leaving a message or an email for them either in this situation.

Ha ... just had an email from mse ... I tried to help somebody find a news item, and my post has been deleted for breaking rules.  I'd better delete part of my post at 0928 today! 

Brother positive for covid again.  It's all coming thick and fast!

I wasn't sure - but I knew there was something a bit awkward there. Nonetheless, that's very strange.

As is your post breaking the rules? I missed what might have been construed there!

I am very saddened to read this @Karmacat how very insensitive by some of your wider family.

It is heartening to read how you are taking onboard your siblings' needs before sharing. It must be a large emotional shock.

Thanks Baileys Babe, it really is a shock.  I'll phone my sister tonight when she's home safe, that's what she did when her daughter's rabbit died, the one I was looking after, so that's what I'll implement here.

Sofas, I like sofa 1. Life is too short to not have a pattern you love. Those wooden legs at an angle on 2. and 3. look glam and are fashionable but I fear for their longevity.

Congratulations to you and SL on the PBs.

Thanks Edwink, unpleasant stuff does seem to be coming from several directions at the moment.

I do love the pattern, and after all the sofa doesn't have to be plain to have cushions and a throw, a layered look can happen, it would be the only pattern point in the room ... maybe I shouldn't order it until I get the cushions out and the throws out, and see what they're like, though, as SL first said, they have to last.  As do the legs!  Very good point about the legs being at an angle.   No decision till the bookcase is finished and the double glazing installed.  

Thanks for the funeral thoughts.  "Desperately odd" is a good description, sadly.  A lot of odd things have happened in the past, but I'm genuinely left speechless at this one.  I'm making myself not mind, sister is coming over tomorrow afternoon, and of course there are much, much worse things going on in the world, this is nothing in comparison
