When we have Yorkshire puddings here we always make a few extra to have for lunch with jam the following day.  Absolutely delicious especially with homemade jam.

Another here that doesn't do any ironing although I do have an ironing board. I use the ironing board as a table extension when I am in my sewing room.  Really handy having a bit of extra surface space when I'm pinning things together and I have all and sundry out of my sewing box.

We get lumps of moss here too and not a day goes by when there aren't lumps all around the house on the ground. We have a lot of nesting birds around here so I am happy for them to take as much as they want. Plus, they help themselves to our hens straw shavings that we drop before going into the hens run.

I wonder if they knew what we use our ironing boards for would they change the advertising?
  • Talking of Yorkies we used to buy the huge ones and then put our roast in the middle of it.

I was only thinking yesterday whether to actually keep our ironing board. It so rarely gets used.

Thank you all!  This is so valuable, you've no idea, such a lot of this is foreign territory to me.  I'm replying to Edwink, because she referred to all three topics :)

I was going to go to the 2oz flour individual portion because the middle seems to be kind of squishy - it's cooked, but unpleasant to eat.  For me, it needs to be much less mix in each container, so it can be flatter.  It's a fan oven that was at 200C for 45 mins.

My sister does this, as well as all you lovely peeps :) I haven't got round to my craft work yet, but when I do, this is what I'll do :D My board needs a cover if I'm keeping it, though.  I bought a replacement one made of heatproof material, but it was so finicky to attach and use I sent it to a charity shop, oops.  Some fabric wrapped around would be fine - I'll put it on the list of stuff to do :D

I think *my* lumps of moss are things that the birds have taken from my roof, like teapot's (hello teapot!)  so the place I'm actually providing the moss for them is out of my reach.  Very happy to do it though :) and eventually the moss is swept up into the green bin, or scooped up and put onto the little border as soil improver.

I wonder if that is where my lumps of moss come from, I always assumed that the wet & windy weather blew them off the roof.  That makes a lot of sense though.

Lumps of moss are the bane of my existence at the moment - they constantly wash off our roof onto the front steps, the back patio area and onto the flat roof & into the gutter!  I fill a good bucketful every couple of weeks that goes into the garden waste bin!  I wish our local birdies were interested in some of it for their nests!
