I've spent the last two hours since my last post (!) down an internet black hole - growlights! Yes, I bought the led wand-type thing, that plugs in via a usb port. But I have a lovely solid wood standard lamp, from my mum, that would be ideal to use to direct a growlight bulb. It's a bayonet fitting, and in my rabbit journeys I've discovered that a standard bayonet (I think) is called a B22. And it's available for not much money at all, £5.49. I want to get going on that by the middle of next week, hence the urgency. Very happy with all that, and now off to bedfordshire2023: the year I get to buy a car6

Right ... finally on the go, dw is finally on, I have some preparation issues today: clearing the porch (shopping *still* waiting to be washed, for instance), clearing bathroom ready for my sister tomorrow, doing the windowsill work I didn't do yesterday, and I've realised I need to iron the curtains I washed yesterday. Ironing is pretty foreign to me these days
I made the Yorkshires yesterday! Given my addictive tendencies with food, lets just say I need to make one individual portion to eat at a time - 2oz flour and 1 egg is just right, I can heat some veg separately. Very easy to make, of course, I'm happy with that. Might do the ironing first, before it all gets completely dry2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
What is this strange "ironing" thing? I realised a little while ago that I haven't had my iron out since the first lockdown, so nearly 2 years. At least I know where it is!

My OH is just ironing the duvet covers for our MH ready for trips away. Can't remember the last time it was used.Mortgage Free November 2018

I have an apron that needs ironing - but can't justify lugging out the board and iron just for the one thing! I often iron tea-towels and bath-towels not because I'm that fastidious, but because it finishes drying them out after being through a wash & hung to dry!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Don't get me wrong, my ironing board is out 24/7 just not to do the ironing on. It is a tall one & brings my jigsaw board up to a height where I don't have to stoop at all to use it. That is why I bought that ironing board, nothing to do with actual ironing. Comes under my heading of getting your prioritites right. To me this is one of the massive advantages of getting older. If they don't like it well they needn't come. I no longer care if someone disapproves of something in my life. Just don't upset the neighbours & don't let the house fall down around me. Job done.

Yay
I genuinely can't remember when I last ironed anything - what I *do* remember is that when I last ironed, I couldn't remember where I'd put the iron
if I'd been able to line dry them, they probably wouldn't have needed it, but they do having been dried over the bath and over the bathroom radiator (with the window open and the heating on a bit. I wouldn't dream of regularly ironing!

Yorkshires and veg - that's a greap cheap and hearty meal. I'll borrow that idea!Save £20,000 in 2025. April 2k, May 3.5k5

That's good, earthie! Using one egg, it works out at 2oz flour, which doesn't sound much, but I'd load up on veg. 4oz flour, which I always understood to be a carb portion for an adult, has *way* too much fat for me, I felt quite ill after I'd munched it all
I haven't done the bits I said I was going to do, but there's still so much, that it doesn't really matter - I ended up getting 3 bucketsful of weeds, dead grass and shrubs into the green bin, and clearing the way to my front door from the gate - birds tend to peck at moss from the roof and it falls to the ground all around the house. I need to start including gardening and weeding in my daily round - everything's growing like crazy.2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -

its also coming up to the time of year when the jackdaws dig under the gravel and howk great lumps from the weed suppressing membrane to put in their nests 🙄.4
