You can do an Epsom salt footbath KC.2

I spent about an hour and a quarter out there this afternoon - a mix of sweeping the patio, fiddling with the bird bath to give the birdies a little landing pad, dried tealeaves out there, emptied out some old plastic bags of leafmould onto the front border, dismantled part of an anthill for the birds to eat the ants, chopped back some summer snowdrops, which have become a weed, and weeded a patch at the front that's had the Victorian-style tile edging collapse. I got it upright, put the soil in its rightful place behind it, watered it, and put loads more bark chippings on it. Plus, I got 3 loose bucketsful of my neighbour's grass clippings out of the green bin and spread it on my open soil at the back - grass stalks are like an inch high, completely seed-free, anything I can do to help my soil is a good thing.

Oooo - good work on the garden KC!
My outdoor time was minimal yesterday but I did get the spent daffs cuts back, planted some chitted potatoes in grow bags and started some fast growing seeds in small windowsill greenhouses. All quick wins, KC style! 😚

I'm all for the quick win
I want to do something else out there - maybe cut back the first few trunks of the leaning mahonia? that wouldn't take long - but today was always earmarked as changing-the-bed-and-washing-the-bedding - which means a shower and a hairwash too, so I can't afford the energy to do anything else very much. So it might actually be making the nutloaf 🤭😈 which, as I said to beanie about her cleaning her table, has been on my list for a looong time. But I *did* make moves yesterday, and things are fresher and more accessible. So it might happen 🤣

Hey ho ... as I say, I'm all for the quick win ... and in the general updating I did recently, I noticed that I never updated my driving licence when I moved house, erm, ten years ago
this is bad. Very bad. I have a scan of it, I have my details with me, including passport and credit card, off we go to the races.
No. I can't find my driving licence, and I didn't scan the back of it, which is also needed for a renewal. I was *sure* I'd seen it. It never leaves the house, after all! Renewing when you've lost the licence is only £6 more expensive than the ordinary renewal, but I'm going to wait and search again. I've just done a *lot* of searching, I'll have to search more. Rats, thats another thing to go on my list!
I think I might divert to the nutloaf!
UPDATE: Erm, it was in the folder that I use as my to-do list for paperwork...

renewed at the basic cost of £14, they'll use the passport photo that my bus pass also uses (uploaded when I renewed my passport 3 years ago). Now I just need to cut up the driving licence in my possession and send it where they told me. I haven't mentioned this on here, but it's been nagging at me, very pleased to have done this. Breaking for lunch now.

Thanks for the reminder - my driving licence is due for renewal. I've put the paperwork somewhere...4

Good stuff, greenbee, it's why I love the diaries. Managed to post the cut up photocard licence back to them today:) and as I was coming back, I saw the ranger who does the healthy walks by the council, so we had a nice natter. Amazing to just chat to an acquaintance in the street! Perfick, in fact2023: the year I get to buy a car3
