I love that! flirtatious fence panels
I've propped one up with a 2 x 2 for now, but there's some serious fingerwagging to be done
Went on the walkies this morning, and even "normal" winter storminess is tricky, tired me out. Luckily there's plenty I can faff about with while sitting down. And, heroically, I managed to clean the cooker hob
As I say, catching up on the normal. I need to lay out general themes for the next week:Monday: finishing off the kitchen: the hob, a dirty fridge drawer, sweeping the floor, store roasted egg shells for the garden. Do I dare chop some veg? Or make some frugal choccie brownies? We'll see.Tuesday: rags and some clothing to be taken to the charity shop, plus an old laptop (suitably anonymised) to Currys, they recycle electronic doo dads. Collect dual usb charger from Boots. Start to pack, simple things like sunglasses
Wednesday: supermarket delivery - cleaning, putting stuff away.Thursday: change bed, clean bedding. More packing.Friday: Find jewellery and fancy stuff - useful for the hol, useful for tomorrow.Saturday: nephew, his wife and toddler, supposed to be coming down to from London for the day, possibly with another nephew and *his* wife and children. Full on family rampage, nothing else will be happening! Except I'd *really* like a go in the Tesla.Sunday: recovery time! I might check out shoes and boots for the hol.Mon: collect rail ticket, finish packing, water plants. Slight amount of panic

Love a good plan!
4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 7 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 17 mths)3 -
Thanks
of course, I didn't do the full job in the kitchen, but the hob is clean, the eggshells are crushed and in the kilner jar I've been using for the others, the little halogen oven (where the shells were roasted) has finally been cleaned. Fridge drawer has at least been emptied of what was due to go to the compost bin. Kitchen is definitely looking more normal

Remind me KC, does toasting the egg shells sterilise them?5

Loving the plan

Hi Ed - at a certain level, it does. I didn't have the facts and figures, but google is my friend: https://www.growveg.co.uk/guides/using-eggshells-in-the-garden/ basically 95 C for 30 minutes. Years ago, I'd just chuck them onto the soil after they dried, oops, but I'm more careful these days.edinburgher said:Remind me KC, does toasting the egg shells sterilise them?

Thanks! Today is "rags and some clothing to be taken to the charity shop, plus an old laptop (suitably anonymised) to Currys, they recycle electronic doo dads. Collect dual usb charger from Boots. Start to pack" Not done it yet, I've been faffing with the wm and the dw, but I'm just about to get going on it.teapot2 said:Loving the plan

All the charity shop stuff, rags plus donations, has gone
I'm very pleased about that, and I collected my new usb charger too
I've been spending quite a bit of time since then wondering if I can find a loophole to cancel the cruise and get our money back, but I can't - online cooling off period doesn't apply to transportation or accommodation, according to Citizens Advice, and a cruise is kind of both. The locked down hotel in Tenerife isn't in the town where we'll be docking, but of course a fortnight is a long time in this situation. I've got to make sure that the stress doesn't whack me down either ... So, packing it is ...2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -
I wouldn't fret too much KC, Coronavirus is going global whether we like it or not!3

Very interested in how you anonymise an old laptop. I'm always worried that whatever is on there can be unearthed by some tech wizard somewhere (think Gary Glitter, not as a tech wizard but as someone who didn't obliterate his footprints ). Not that i have anything to hide but I mean things like personal or financial info etc. Someone told me to just remove the hard drive and destroy it. If I could fathom out how to do it I'd probably do that. Any advice please?Karmacat said::Tuesday: rags and some clothing to be taken to the charity shop, plus an old laptop (suitably anonymised) to Currys, they recycle electronic doo dads.
Also, I was really interested to read about your toasting eggshells before using in the garden. We've always just crushed ours and thrown them on the soil but now I see that's not such a good idea.5
