It is interesting that you blame the sweetcorn. I opened a tin a few months out of its use by date. It should be absolutely fine, I know people who have used tins 10 years out of date with no problems. The tin I opened had absolutely no liquid in it, weird! I binned it. So glad I did now.

Interesting comments about 'use by' dates on tins. I always risk it if the date isn't too far back, I wouldn't risk anything older than a year out of date. Never had any problems so far but there's always a first time:eek:

I find that the cheaper sweetcorn often has lots of liquid in the tin but the tin of Green Giant I bought recently was just crammed full of corn. No liquid to drain out at all but the corn was excellent quality and well in date. I just added some water to the pan when I heated it.

Thanks for the good vibes :) I had another sleep, watched Gentlemen Prefer Blondes :) I'm keeping on drinking weak varieties of my usual drinks. Life goes on :) I've booked a supermarket delivery tomorrow, and thats important to get it in the house, other than that, life is just about lolling about getting better :)

 Better today, thanks all. Sleep takes a while to become rebalanced, it will happen. Supermarket delivery has been, not bad at all, I've cleaned and stashed the frozen and chilled stuff.

All the financial stuff has stopped in its tracks - accounts, utilities, choosing which of the trousers I'll keep from Next. All I've done is put laundry away, and sort out the structure of the family book I'd like to write: think of it as a written version of "Who do you think you are?". Fifteen people, though that includes two couples!!! Only my own deadline, though, it'll be okay :)

Good to hear you're feeling better:T:j

I know why you clean the stuff from the supermarket and just wondered what you use to clean it with. I don't clean most of mine but last time I noticed the outside of the plastic milk bottles were really dirty:( and another time I noticed the bottom of one of the crates they carried things to the door in looked a definite health-hazard:eek:

Stopping financial stuff is good once in a while:j. I wish I'd been able to do the same as you today. My mind is totally frazzled after a most frustrating hour or more (definitely seems like a lot longer) trying to cancel my mobile phone 'contract'. It isn't even a contract as such, it's just a rolling monthly one with supposedly easy cancellation. I kept getting locked out of my online account as it wouldn't accept my phone number/password. In the end I had to phone their so-called 'Help Desk', wait on hold for 18 minutes before being answered (but as it's a free number I wasn't fretting about the cost) and then endure the third degree of questioning. I think it's all sorted. I need a good strong cuppa now:rotfl:

FS, I use a mix of washing up liquid and disinfectant to clean the shopping. My financial work isn't finished, not by a long shot, but I can't do even the deadline stuff right now. As greenbee says, I'm taking it easy :) just had a very nice mix of reduced rate vanilla kefir with some defrosted frozen dark cherries :) yummity yum.

I went to my U3A Ancient Civilisations (no jokes please :D) "lecture", but didn't feel too good and the talk was a bit like listening to some guy in a pub :D:( so I left at the interval :( Turned out that what I really wanted to do with my time was finish off my tax return. Spoke to two companies and hmrc, apologising frantically - nothing to pay, the computer tells me, though I'll wait till tomorrow to submit it.

I thought I had another year of drudging through the Santander crazy paperwork, but it turns out I sold those shares in January last year, not April, so woo hoo, I'll never have to faff around with them again :):):)

So it's all done! I'll look over it again, and submit it tomorrow. I won't do the French tax return straight away, I'll work on utilities first, and savings accounts. Feels good.
