Oh it does!!!! Thank you, seriously! I've posted those cards, I've been slowly tidying the porch and the shopping, but not done the cards.

Our Christmas cards have been opened but are still in a pile... except the one I had to keep away from the cats (it had tinsel on it) - it's shoved in a drawer! :rotfl:Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Woo hoo, so all those perfect homes I keep seeing are all just marketing constructs, hurray :rotfl:
My phone isn't doing too well as of this exact momentso I'm not sure of the existinglist, but today, sadly, is about finishing off things that have been in my list for days, but not yet got done :rotfl: the two little parcels to send off, cards to open, attempt at making a nut roast (the mushrooms are going to go slimey if I don't hurry up). Trouble is, I'm still sitting here

…….Trouble is, I'm still sitting here
Yep, I know that situation only too well:o
We're not entertaining anyone this year (over Christmas itself anyway) so after posting the cards and any gifts that had to be sent I felt I could actually enjoy Christmas this year, in a more relaxed way I mean.
I was booked in for a MRI scan on Saturday morning so had fine-tuned my essential chores to cater for a day of doing very little, apart from hours of travelling to the hospital and the inevitable sitting around there waiting for backlogs to clear. I always like early appointments but mine was 2.50 so I expected anyone taking longer earlier in the day would impact on my 'start' time. They had rescheduled my appointment twice already and then rang yesterday afternoon to ask if I wouldn't mind moving it to January 4th instead:eek:. It's not that I mind , especially as she said the delay wouldn't matter as my case is classed as 'non urgent':j:j:j.
The problem is that now I have an unexpected 'extra' day to play with I can't get myself into gear:(. Even the 'to do' items on my original list have gone undone and, like you, I'm still sitting here:o. I think I've always tended to make the work fit the time available rather than get it done quickly and enjoy a bit of breathing time at the end. Really must get off MSE and start on my list;)
I hope you have a good day:beer:0 -

Thank you both :j
FS, oh my word, thats a big deal, to have an MRI, even if its non urgent, and then for it to be delayed, good heavens. I can understand just sitting after that delay, actually. Take care of yourself.
I've been sat on the floor in front of the TV (Kidnapped, the Michael Caine version, if you must know :rotfl:) and managed to wrap something that has to go by post. Erm, you know what, I'm going to post it first class tomorrow, I have to do a few tiny little errands tomorrow, I need to do them in one go.
Phew! I tell you what would have made a huge difference in all this: if my desk had been clear, instead of being used as a holding area for other clearing. It's my responsibility, but it's not my fault:D:D

Ah yes. The power of a clear desk. Unfortunately, a power I am not acquainted with...
I have 30 mins until last post collection and have written all bar one of my posting cards. The post box is 3 mins away. What's the betting I don't get there in time...!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Our nearest post box is 20 paces away from our front gate (yeah, I know I'm really sad to have counted them:o) and the entrance of the village hall used as a Polling Station is only 10 more beyond that. No excuse on either front is there?:rotfl:0 -
Woo hoo, so all those perfect homes I keep seeing are all just marketing constructs, hurray :rotfl:...
Our neighbours have one of those storybook homes - everything has a place & everything is in it's place:eek:
Went over Monday night to drop off some of the left-over sausage rolls left from a work pot-luck...
...all decorations were in place, every window lit & Christmassy - the kitchen had mood lighting and the little lightup Christmas village even had a working train!
:eek::eek::eek:'
...left their place feeling very inadequate...
...then OH reminded me they are both retired & have no hobbies...;):)
