Looks like I've called in on the right day. Hope you are having a great birthday.

I'll be interested to see how you get on with getting a new battery for your phone, as its something I need to do. I haven't had any black screens of death, but the battery now goes down at a fast rate. THis is inconvenient as I like to be able to use it to take photos when I'm out and about. It's got to the point when I need to conserve usage if I'm out for a whole day.

I take an external battery pack and charging cable with me. I can usually charge two phones and an ipad from it (even though it's getting on a bit), although if I'm out all day and using my phone a lot I tend to reserve it for the phone I want to use for calls and put the other stuff in low power mode.

    Thank you lovely people :kisses3::kisses3::kisses3:
It was a lovely day, thank you all for your good wishes. I spent the whole day with my sister, she provided a modern version of what used to be called "a lovely spread" :rotfl: I had a little hamper of pressies to open, and then she drove me home. I got her to drop me off early so I could walk through my local village in the "dark", as it was full of Christmas lights :rotfl: Texts from others, and my phone managed to live enough to deliver them to me!

Slight wobble as the daughter of the slightly-estranged auntie was among the texters :( they're the two that stole some genealogical documents from my mum - I thought they'd returned some, but I've never found them in my mum's paperwork :( There's a whole history of much more minor unpleasantness, and I just don't want to be around them, but I'd like to keep alive a chance at one day getting back a few of the documents, so I've never escalated, but its unbearable to think about, so I don't say anything. If they want a relationship, though, I'll have to.

Enough of them! There's so much else to be thankful for.
    - I had a lovely day.
    - my new kindle arrived and was hidden well enough that it wasn't stolen!
    - it's warm!
    - I have a clear couple of days to crack on with things.
    - I discovered a 99p Stella Rimington novel I'd downloaded but not read. Happy about that!
    - kept to my self-preservation rule about not writing out cards on my birthday: 3 to write out and post today
    - I'll get to see both my sister's kids, and her dau. in law, over Christmas.
    - realised the main craft project of 2020, that can combine many crafts: a wallhanging of a Christmas tree, that I can use each Christmas, make it from my existing stash and hang quite a few of my lighter Christmas ornaments onto it each year :)

    Belated Happy Birthday Karma!!

It sounds like you had a lovely day (don't think about the estranged rellies... not worth it!)

Enjoy the novel (once you've done those cards ;) )

Love the sound of the Christmas wall-hanging :) We still haven't got any decorations up as it's such a hassle with the cats. Will have to do something soon though as we have a few people coming round on Saturday.

It was a brilliant day ta muchly, the only problem being that I didn't see the cat that lives next door to my sister :D huge problem :p

Ooh yes, I've been watching a few "youve been framed" type tv programmes while I'm eating lunch or whatever - a *lot* of cats destroying Christmas trees in those :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I've had a little wallhanging made of wrapping paper in the far distant past, which worked really well, but this one would be permanent and made of material of various sorts. It might be quite big, too :D

Right, shopping has been delivered, some of it wiped down (genuinely mucky this time!), dishwasher has done its thing, SB faffed with, but really not much at all. Oops! Okay, at least I can do the cards. After that, its opening the ones I've received, and putting them up on the top of the bookcase. I can do that :)
