Hello all! Yes, boo to arthritis, hurray to YG, and hurray to all the sunshine I got today :) A good day, kept it quiet on purpose because I'm off to the kitchen designer tomorrow, first thing. Though I did have a little walk later on, just a little one, lots of primroses are out.

I find it very odd to think I might be in the right demographic, and not you, RT :rotfl: and I absolutely know that I'm not often in the SB demographic :rotfl:

I've been doing scanning, tidying, drying stuff off, cooking beans, de-thinging the kitchen, just general steps foward in this year's plans, as well as the little walk.

Sorry to hear about the foot Karma, but definite yay to YG! I'm with rtandon - at the moment I just can't face their surveys!

Hope your meeting with the kitchen designer goes well this morning.

    Hiya

    The meeting went well, thanks:

    - supplier had cancelled splashback because of lead-in time, so since there are going to be tiles at either side of it, I just extended the run. I think I prefer that. Colour is that "fashionable" very light turquoise. I'm concerned about buying tiles a fashionable colour :rotfl: and they had some with a lovely bevel for the same price, but colours were utterly boring or way too intense.

    - magic corner: I hadn't seen the one the designer chose for me (!) but when I *did* see it today, I didn't like it. Bottom shelf quite narrow, and I'd still have had to get down on my hands and knees for the bottom shelf. Substituted a type where each level comes out one at a time, instead of everything in one go. Each shelf only takes 20kg, instead of 25kg, but I'll live with that.

    - drawer unit is the same as I've got now, thats fine, one narrow one, two deep.

    - designer took me to the till and said "look after my customer" so I was sneaky and also bought 4 x 90 litre bags of bark chippings, they were £7 each or 4 for £22 :D

    - I was wittering earlier on the prepstering thread about having no shampoo. Rectified that :p saw a Boots and used their "buy 3 and the cheapest is free", to buy 3 Tres Semme, which I'm currently using. Wanted to get to Lidl too, I recently discovered their lurvely tinned butterbeans, but the queues were horrendous.

Been home a couple of hours, really tired, but a great trip :)

When a trip out is great, then it is sooo worth the effort. When it is meh, then it just drains energy away. Who'da thunk that a kitchen designer meeting would be in the 'great' category, eh?! We are going to re-design our kitchen - the whole shebang. One day...

Glad it was a useful trip to the kitchen designer. Nothing like actually seeing and trying out the different elements to know if they're right for you

Absolutely :) it went really well, except I made a slight plonker of myself by misunderstanding simple things, like "door" to mean "doors" not "door" :rotfl: :o I do hope he understood I wasn't trying to be awkward, my brain just goes very literal sometimes :rotfl:

    Sleep well all.

  • Sounds like the plans for new kitchen are going well, must start to look at getting ours re-done as its embarrasingly grubby.
