Thanks for your sympathy - I'm extremely frustrated with the whole situation and they're not really bothered to get back to me.

I've actually recovered correspondence from them back in 2012 which states they were asking for Debit Card details which is a bit strange also.

I'm all for fraud prevention (I was a victim of fraud in 2015) but in this case where I'm clearly not a fraudster, it takes a company an hour to place a marker and then me several months and several thousands of pounds (probably) in lost earnings and expenses to try and get to the bottom of it.

No system is without its flaws but for the average Joe it can be life changing and put extreme stress on one's life.

The irony is PDLs are protecting an industry that prays on the vulnerable and has next to no morals in lending money. But no financial outfit runs on ethics.

It's not lost money though, if the marker is not genuine you will be due substantial compensation. But to start the process meet up with a solicitor who will guide you, almost all chamber will offer 30 minutes free consultation. So grab your paperwork, book that and see what they say, depending on details you may be able to avoid court and go via ombudsman. But to decide which way to go you need someone to help you with the details, or spend a lot of time educating yourself online.
