Oh No!
Thats really awful, but it sounds like you should be able to claim on your insurance without too many difficulties. Tell them that you NEED your own transport for financial reasons and they may well get you a hire bike in the short term as it may cost less than the bill you will send them for TAXIS!

Nothing I can say will make it better, but I hope your moped is found or the insurers pay up fast!!!
Not sure what to say about the situation with your OH, apart from I wish you all the best (with or without him).

Really hope you get the moped back. I heap many unspeakable things upon these thieving little !!!!!!!s. Do they make me mad? You bet your !!! they do. Ohhhh I'd better not get started.
On a more practical note, may I ask if there is anyone you can car share with to or from work?
Bus fares are usually cheaper if you buy a weekly or monthly ticket - significantly cheaper so do ask the driver. If you have to use more than one bus in a day (same company) then you can buy a mega ticket usually to let you hop on different buses.
Also - shopping.....you might get by for a while on free delivery vouchers for Tesco or whatever?
Don't let this stop you breaking up with OH if that is what you want because you might as well lump all this together and get through it and you'll feel AMAZING when it's all sorted I guarantee it! If the partnership isn't going anywhere then a moped won't hold it together. If that makes any sense!
Lastly - I can't think why your insurance wouldn't pay out - you'd locked it up and taken the keys out...what more can you do? Erect a gun turret? Try not to worry - I am sure they will pay out.Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Have the Police been of any help? When our cars were vandalised (preventing THREE of us from going to work that day) all the police wanted to do was to give a 'crime number' over the phone.
Unfortunately, for them, I let them know exactly what I thought of 'being given a crime number' and the police did attend. It transpired that a group of young 'toe-rags' had vandalised 32 cars that night.
They were, eventually, caught - but were given a 'Police Caution'. :mad:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Ah, but if they'd been convicted, that would have meant they would have been "labelled".
