                    Now plus diary!
My moped was stolen at 3am this morning by three spotty little teenage chavs. They broke the locks, and my OH saw them wheeling him up the road. He woke me up and I chased them for about a mile wth no weapons (probably stupidly), but they got away unfortunatley. They managed to get him started and rode off on the cycle tracks.
Police have been notified - am awaiting a callback from them to give statements etc. They turned up to the house and have been out looking. Now I have to deal with insurance companies etc which is terrifying as they are bound to try and find a way not to pay. Im insured third party fire and theft.
Im so !!!!!!! angry right now. The inconvenience this is going to cause is huge. Ive now got to fork out almost a fiver a day for bus fares which I can ill afford. Ive been working stacks of overtime at work because of a recent merger and im now going to be spending even more time away from home in order to wait around for bloody public transport. It means my travelling costs have suddenly jumped from around £2 a week, to almost £25.
I am desperately trying to get debt free at the moment and this is the last thing I need. My relationship with my OH is already rocky at the moment and I was going to break up with him this week - my moped was my safety knowing I can get to work and shopping etc. How is it possible that parents of teenagers dont know that thier kids are out stealing other peoples property?? Ill strangle the little !!!!!!! !!!!!!s if I find out who did it.
Ive been awake all night and now have to go to work. I want to cry.

Oh JW, I am so sorry to hear what happened. Is there any chance you can take an emergency days leave to get your head straight, deal with the Police etc. Surely your employer would understand. Is there anyone you could get a lift to work with in the short term, whilst you wait for the insurance company to sort things out.0

Oh hun x I am so so sorry to read that. Are you able to take the day off work to sort things out with the insurance etc, and also get some sleep - you will find things much harder if you are sleep deprived?
I am sure the insurance will be ok about it - you have done everything you can, and they will see that - you may also be able to claim for the additional transport costs while you are without the moped - certainly worth asking.
I really do hope you manage to get this sorted quickly. Life's a b!tch sometimes xxSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Oh sweetheart, i'm really really sorry, have a

Its a really horrible thing to happen, I despair of some people, nasty little thiefs.
You are very strong and you will get through this, i'm sure your insurance company will be fine, especially if you are with one of the big ones, i'm sure that its not worth their time fighting it.
Try and pick yourself up, have a nice cup of tea and think about your new scooter, someone near me has a bright pink one!0 -
Oh you poor thing :grouphug: going back to bed and getting some sleep is an excellent idea - you'll cope so much better if you're not tired. Maybe just do the phone calls, paperwork first then back to bed, switch off and recharge your 'batteries'

They really don't understand the consequencse of their actions do they? I am so sorry you have had this happen on top of everything else. Big Hugs to you

So sorry this has happened to you, honey. Our streets are little with human scum who don't even care for themselves nevermind anyone else. Couple that with some parents who refuse to believe that their 'little darlings' are capable of doing any wrong and you have a recipe for disaster.
I know I couldn't cope financially if something like that happened to me, but I've got my fingers crossed that the insurance company come through for you on this.
Again, hugs and sympathy from me too (and a load of anger too just thinking about those 3 wastes of air).Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
I am really sorry that this is happening to you , I might suggest chatting to a friend or family member . When it all builds up like this , it is hard to see around the corner , especially when everything is falling down around you. My advise , plain and simple. Take a day off work and speak to a family member or friend. It is pointless fretting over this as it will just cause you more stress. Clear yourself away from all the stress (even if it is just for one day). With a friend, someone who you can confide in, go for a coffee in a cafe and just sip and relax. Go to the cinea , get your favorite film out on DVD ... relax and take your mind off it for a few hours minimum. Then tackle the issues at hand. You just need to find tha time for yourself.
Again , I hope this all turns out well and hope that this just helps you just a little bit.

 this makes me mad JW. little idiots. I do hope you get it sorted though and fingers crossed the company pay up. Its just another hill to walk over in your debt free journey. I hope its all sorted and quickly so you dont have to use the bus. But take care of yourself if that means a day off work so be it
 take care x 0 -
JW, SO SORRY about your situation,
In my experience insurance companies have been great when I've had to deal with them and pretty fast. Like the others have said take today off work (if you can) tell them what has happened and that you're waiting for the police to get back to you. With the insurance they will probably ask for a police incident number (well I think they will ask) so they can check it out so when you have contact with the police tell them that you need to get into contact with insurance A.S.A.P and that you need an incident number.
Best of luck.0 -
Awww hun really sorry that some little thugs stole your moped. Don't worry about the insurance. You never know the police might recover it yet... in the meantime just get a crime reference number from the police and pass that onto your insurer.
