    Hello Ladies,

I went to Karaoke on Tuesday evening and I had a really good evening. I sang a few old songs, but I was going through the DJ's song book, as I am determined to learn new songs this year. I am thoroughly fed up of singing the same songs again and again. I actually feel bored when I am singing my old songs now :rotfl:

    I sang:

    1. Fever by Peggy Lee

    2. Return to sender by Elvis

    3. Dream Lover by Bobby Darin

    4. Hurt so good by Susan Cadogan

It was a very inexpensive night out for me, it just cost me 75p bus fare and I spent £1 on a bottle of water. I wore my new black ruffle V by Very jumper and my daughter not only noticed, she paid me a compliment. :)

Is it just me or did anyone else scratch their head when they read this :rotfl:

Oh yes, as I read I wondered how many, like me were having a little scratch:rotfl:

maddiemay - whereabouts was the lingerie shop you mentioned in Dorset? I live in North Dorset and haven't managed to find a decent one to get myself measured. QUOTE]

It was in Antelope Way in Dorchester, opposite side and up a little from Body Shop. 6 years since I moved, but according to the internet there is still one there called Mirari Lingerie. I don't recall the name, so it may be under new ownership, but the windows still look interesting in the photos. (I used to live in Beaminster)

    Morning ladies:)
Hope all those suffering with Flu are feeling a lot better now.
*Butterflies* good luck with the job searching; I’m sure something will turn up soon. I always thought part time hours were 25 hrs or less, but maybe that’s changed in recent times (or I had it completely wrong to begin with!)
I think I read about the programme you watched - was it on that where they found the Nivea soft moisturiser was as good as the more expensive brands? I have to say, I do love that moisturiser and find it really hydrating.
Lovely to get a compliment from your daughter, *Sugar*:) - my sons probably couldn’t even tell you what I was wearing half the time:D
I’m at home today and the plan is to do some house fabbing - I want to have a good declutter of various drawers and cupboards in preparation for decorating.
I don’t mind having a day at home today because I’ve got a really busy week coming up next week socially.
Tomorrow OH and I are going to see The Darkest Hour, and we’ll grab a bite to eat afterwards - looking forward to seeing this Movie.
On Sunday we’ve promised ourselves a long walk with a pub lunch at the end of it, so I need to fit in a bit of exercise today as well, in advance of any extra calories consumed over the weekend:D - looking on You Tube for some home workouts is a good idea - I may follow suit :)
Have a good weekend, all x

    Morning :)

I missed the program about moisturisers, I will look on catch up as I still haven't found a replacement for my one I'd used for years that Boots stopped making it

After 2 days of heels and a light evening jog (in trainers) I have had such sore feet that I'm back in flats. I need to build up slowly I think! I wore more of my new clothes yesterday (all sale bargains) and again did make up and hair, but I didn't do curlers this time. It really makes me feel different when I catch a glance in the mirror and see someone quite nice looking back instead of my usual grotty ill looking reflection.

I don't know if anyone else watches Father Brown, but I'm getting inspiration from Buntys wardrobe and it's nice to have a character on who isn't pencil thin.

Ellsbell I need to give the house some attention too and also brave the attic for the xmas decoration box as everything is in a pile on the side at the moment.

Speedy recovery to all the people with the dreaded flu :(

    Thanks Ellsbel,

My cold is really coming out now, yesterday I was better, today im taking some flu capsules and heading out in the car. Thankfully my little mx5 car passed its mot on the emission yesterday after two failures on the catalytic converter. So Im heading down the M65 to have a look in Boundary Mill at the sale. Need some fresh air anyway and pick up a parcel. Ive lost the 4lb I put on over xmas simply by being healthy and cutting out alcohol. So pleased.
Enjoy your weekend everyone, oh and Im getting some nivea soft too.

  • Happy fab Friday all.

Just a quick post as I am working from home today and still in my pajamas. Two first dates this week and both went well, but I think Mr Thursday is going to win over Mr Tuesday. I liked both guys and they were both good company for the evening but I wasn't physically attracted to Mr Tuesday whereas I was Mr Thursday.

Both made it clear they were attracted to me, but Tuesday made a point of sitting next to me on the sofa in the bar at the BFI and touched my leg in conversation then grabbed my hand as we walked to the bus stop and then stopped to try to snog me and I wasn't really feeling it and pull back quickly. Mr Thursday on the other hand we were in a cafe with a table in between us so less chance for him to get touchy and when we left he gave me a hug and a quick peck on the lips. Then I got a text when I was on the way home saying he was sorry for the awkward moment, he had been hesitating about going in for a proper kiss. Whilst I would definitely have kissed him back, and told him so, I like the fact he didn't just assume I would be interested. All that can wait for a second date, we're just trying to work out when that will be as we are both away for part of the week ahead.

In other news, I've not had any alcohol since a small port on new years day, been properly back on my diet plan this week and even cut out caffeine this week. Starting to sleep better and noticed my heart rate is dropping too - guess a bad diet is a form of stress on the body.

My fab Friday will be a casual one as am working from home, skinny jeans and a jumper. Am going to a classical music concert at St Martin's in the Fields church on Trafalgar Square this evening so suspect I will need some layers to keep warm. Not been to a classical concert before other than a proms in the part sort of thing so will be nice to do that, going with one of my girlfriends who I tend to do cultural and healthy things with rather than boozy late night things.

Thanks for that - I live in a small village between Sturminster Newton & Blandford Forum so tend to either use Poole or Yeovil for shopping but went in to Dorchester just before Christmas and was amazed at the changes since I was last there (about 6 years ago) - the Old Brewery has been developed and the High Street seems to have rejuvenated too so I will check it out next time I am there :)

Sashybo - I had a quick look at the yoga videos and the I am definitely going to give the beginners one a go :T
  • Hello, I'm feeling a little better today, just stabby headpains but no more coughing and spluttering, hope fellow sufferers are on the mend.
Nails are painted a glam red now which makes me smile, if only I could iron my hands, they look a bit wrinkly!

I have a friend over this evening, wanted to take my new fantastic bag for an outing (how sad am I?) but we are going to stay in and catch up, free evening. Very tempted to buy another colour actually, I have no problem with charity shop or supermarket clothes but I do love a good leather bag.

    Any exciting weekend plans?

Weather is gloomy and damp here so I bought a load of daffodils to make the house cheery, they do lift my mood.
Has anybody found a handcream that is really amazing please?

Oh, and I'm sorry I started people scratching their heads, I'm going to put a colour on my hair in the morning and become a 'natural blonde' again! That should kill any critters.

    Hello Ladies,

I went to see the Alexander Hawkins, Elaine Mitchener Quartet at King's Place in King's Cross. They were a jazz ensemble. I had a great night out. Alexander was the pianist and Elaine was the vocalist, then we had a drummer and a double bass player. They were all very talented. It was a 2 hour show with a 15 minute interval. I had a free ticket for this event. :D

I wore a M & S pink heatgen long sleeved t-shirt with a round neck black cotton cardigan with a black pull on paneled skirt. I wore my Clarks black leather ankle boots, black leather M & S gloves, a black acrylic scarf and my black faux fur trimmed hat. I wore solid silver jewellery with my stainless silver and diamond Ingersoll watch. I was carrying my new black Osprey leather bag, which was a Christmas present from one of my sisters. I layered my perfume with the matching body powder, but I did not bother to wear any make up.

I hope all of you ladies who are having Flu symptoms are starting to feel a lot better by now.
