Book 33:
7/10. This was very readable because it presented a summary of a number of well-known (and less well known, for me the ratio was 17:4) women and was divided into short and digestible chapters. I pulled my book on Mary Seacole off the shelf as a direct result of reading it, it's now been promoted on my reading list.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
"No man is worth, crawling on the earth"- adapted from Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio

The Girl Friend was great, I read it in one sitting.:)
I'm now reading Awaken the Giant Within - Tony Robbins. He is a motivational speaker and life coach. It seems quite good so far.0 -
Book 34:
8/10. It took me quite a while to set my mind to reading this book, because I am so anti-drugs having seen the devastation caused, and I knew that any argument for legalisation was going to make me cross. However, I'm a fan of the application of economics so I eventually bit the bullet and read it. I agreed with much of what was written from an economic perspective, but it neglects to turn its attention to one key aspect: the burden on health and social care as well as human cost. All the recommendations would achieve is to normalise drug use, and then we'll be in the same situation as cigarettes and alcohol. So nice try Tom Wainwright, but epic fail.Wednesday2000 wrote: »I'm now reading Awaken the Giant Within - Tony Robbins. He is a motivational speaker and life coach. I read Sometimes I Lie - Alice Feeney yesterday.
I didn't understand the ending and I looked on Goodreads afterwards and a lot of other people were confused about it too.VfM4meplse wrote: »

I've just finished The Summer of Impossible Things by Rowan Coleman. It was ok but I don't think I'd be rushing to recommend it.
Going to start Last Seen by Lucy Clarke - it looks an easy read.
Must admit I'm finding it difficult to get into reading these days - don't know if its the heat or just not having that page turner on the bedside cabinet0 -
Book 35:
7/10. Much better than her fiction. It has finally sunk in to my head that those adopted as children will neve feel settled until they find their roots, no matter how old they are. It's better that they uncover the disappointing truth than live plagued with uncertainty. Once we're on our life course as adults, those of us who aren't adopted don't think about it at all and certainly don't have fantasies about what could have been.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I'm sorry if I'm on the wrong thread, but can someone help me please? I read a book a few years ago and wanted to read it again but cannot for the life of me remember the title - only the very basic outline of the story.
Is there a site I can type in what I know and get some suggestions?
Hope you don't mind me asking.Quot Libros, Quam Breve Tempus
Illegitimi non carborundum
GNU Terry Pratchett0 -
