Morning peeps. Another cold one here. No rain this morning but gritter has been out and pavements have been done as well. Water butt in courtyard has about an inch thick covering of ice. Noticed it when I was heading out for a newspaper. Alfie I love the history in cemetries as well. There is an old church about 100 yds from me that has its cemetry in the front both are protected. Church was built around 1780. Not in use as one now but still open for various community activities. Some of the headstones in cemetry are fascinating and mostly of wealthy local families. Watched a programme on Highgate a long while ago and was intrigued by the mixture of people buried there. Lots of famous and infamous peeps there. Also if I remember correctly had some connection to Highgate Prison. Be lucky everyone and have a good day.

Bit late in today! Been trying to snow off and on today but it has been melting fairly quickly. Feeling cold now though.
Been studying our holiday plans - just wish the family would all say when they were meaning to come and stay! Like to have everything more or less booked and organised well in advance.
Hope you all had a lovely day.

Been snowing here as well. Snow is staying put now no melt. Where are you thinking of going for your holiday shiels. Sister has been to the Maldives a couple of times and recomended it to me. So have been looking at it for my holiday. There are loads of Islands. Some tiny some small but all look quite good for a relaxing time in the sun and some adventure. She loves snorkling which is why she went there. Have snorkled myself in the past. Loved it in Malta. Sea is so clear. Hope everyone is well and keeping warm.

Thinking of going to put a warmer jersey on FF as temperature seems to be going down even though heating is on full belt!

Just looking at our UK breaks at moment rose. Everyone seems to be "thinking" of coming to visit but not giving us proper dates.
Might think of one of the Canary Islands in Oct or Novemeber.
Looking forward to 2 breaks down to Devon in Sept and one to Coventry and Portsmouth in June. Still thinking of ways to lengthen them.
Has been worrying with dad and operations the last few months too. He has had the second op but still leaking but surgeon hopes it will sort itself out as he has put 2 more stents in. He still has another completely different smaller op to get when he recovers from this one too. At least next one will be a local hospital.

Goodness shiels your dad is going through the mill. Hope he recovers soon and has no more problems with ops. When DS lived in Portsmouth (Fareham)I loved going down there. So much to see and do. Used to take kids to Southsea to the beach. The Old Dockyard is fascinating and the Spinnaker Tower is something else. HMS Victory is also worth a visit.

Love Brighton. Went to many conferences there. Loved visiting the Lanes. Many olde worldy shops and tea rooms. Also some fab individual boutiques and Antique Shops. Stayed in the Old Ship which was a bit expensive but was paid for. (not by me) Night time on the front is something else. Very busy and colourfull.
