DD is actually 29 EE. She will be 30 in November. As far as I am aware she is on Antidepressants etc since the boys were taken away. I am too far away to help her as she is in Cornwall.
She hasn't started her business she is trying to get it going after going on a course in her area. But I don't think it is going to happen anytime soon looking at her fund raising it's not happening. I bought her some basic stuff yesterday to be delivered to her, to try and keep her faith up really.
I don't think she has a printer etc, but she has a tablet so she can access the web.
I will try and talk to her tomorrow to see what she has done, and will try and let her know that she must attend. I fear her inability to remember appointment and her lack of concept of time is not helpful. She always runs out of money the day after she is paid. Her boyfriend who lives in the room upstairs is the same. Luckily they have been on opposite pay weeks so there usually able to fill the electric up and the food between them, I don't know how much the other house mates pay or when.
Fingers crossed we can help from here!
I am tired tonight so I am off to bed. I have to go and see my Mum tomorrow.

Sorry Mooloo I thought she was under 25.

Full service areas have journals and appointments are shown in your journal and your to do list plus you get a text reminder.

In my area the work coaches are fab and if someone is computer illiterate or just illiterate then the claim can be managed by the complex needs team and will be managed by phone rather than online.

The problem is that the sickness part of UC is the same as ESA so if she doesnt score enough points for ESA she is unlikely to score enough for UC.
Have you had a look at the ESA descriptors so see whether you think she meets any of the descriptors and how many points that would get her? If she doesnt score enough and she doesnt meet the special category then she is unlikely to win her case.

Apparently she scored 9 and needed 15. In lots of ways that's good because it means that she is slowly grasping life, but it doesn't help her financially.
I will talk to her again. I just wish she hadn't moved so far away. I am unable to do much from here at all. I am obviously wanting her to be as independent as possible but money is not a thing she is best at.
I will just have to prompt her more regularly to make sure she is being proactive and continues to ask for help (but not from me financially).

Today I am on household duties, and Mum visits.
I am pleased that there was enough funds to pay the business rent today without hitting overdraft. There is still funds left for me to pay one of my suppliers too. So tomorrow I will initiate that payment.
I have been offered a whole lot of fabrics from a retired seamstress so I am eagerly waiting to see what goodies she has.
I definitely have been lucky with stock donations over the years!
Now all I need is a little more organisation so I can get fabrics sold, and others turned into saleable items.
One day I will master my time!
But for today I have wet washing that didn't get hung up needing to be rinsed again before I hang it outside. Hopefully I can get it dry today!
I took delivery of the most amazing shoes decorated for me yesterday. I am going to photograph them and put them on my Facebook page. The person who decorated them is trying to raise money for IVF treatments so I couldn't resist, and for a good reason too!

I used to have Sue but I was contacted by the board moderator and it was suggested I didn't, same as my Avatar used to be a picture of me.

Probably because of the stuff I talk about making it too easy to identify me. Although I think that's rather too late now!

Thankyou for taking the time to search and find me!

    Mooloo,

    she is 29

You cannot "make" someone be proactive

Are you quite sure that's who most deserves your energy? What about Mooloo?

She is 29 but if she needs extra support managing her finances then she will have to be steered in that direction while being on uc.

The consequences of not being able to manage on uc could be an extended sanction. Even missing a meeting can lead to a referral to a decision maker.

If she!!!8217;s going to struggle she!!!8217;ll need extra support from someone.

I know of people much older than 29 who need an advocate to help them with their job search and to get them to meetings.

And there is no reason why that advocate needs to be Mooloo. Other services are available!

She may indeed fail with her soap making, if she ever gets started properly. But unless she tries who knows. The people on the course that she did, are supposed to be supporting her etc.
Unfortunately I am too far away to do it, and far too busy with everything else going on as well.

If I know about meetings etc I can remind her that she has to be somewhere, but financially I cannot help her even if I wanted to.
She is slow, she needs guidance but that doesn't mean she can't try to work, I certainly can't discourage her on the grounds that she might fail. If the people on the course do their job then she should be guided as necessary.
I hope that enthusiasm and support can help her but if she has not raised the funds it's not happening anytime soon
