Gladstone ‘Letter Before Claim’

It is the same company that have the TV programme, after watching it a few times recently funnily enough I didn't actually think it would be happening to me!
Do I continue to ignore until the court date? I literally have everything I need to win this case in court, proof of postage, various letters etc, this letter has really tipped me over the edge.0 -

First they need a court judgment against you. Then that amount has to be >£600 for High Court Enforcement Action with Paul Blowjob (and cameras) turning up on your doorstep.
They are acting purely and simply as debt collectors, no different to Debt Recovery Plus, Zenith, ZZPS or the like.
The NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #4 tells you exactly how to deal with debt crawlers! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Thank you, after reading that I have calmed down a bit. I will just simply ignore it.
It seems they are just trying their luck, again!0 -
Afternoon all,
Quick question, am I right in assuming that my driving license confirms that the DVLA would have known my change of address? My driving license shows my new address since September 2017..
Thanks0 -
What does your driving licence have to do with your V5C, which is where the car is registered?
The two have no relation to each other and updating one does not, cannot and should not update the other.0 -
It was more the whole DVLA thing I was querying.
I sold the car in question in November 2017 but changed my driving license in September 2017 (car was on the market so didn't see the point in changing the logbook).
The question I was asking was more in correlation with what Gladstones/UKCPM would have seen when searching. If they had searched the car registration in July 2018 then there's a good chance it would have shown up in Malta (where the car was taken to after being sold) but my address with the DVLA (as per my license) would have been to my new address.
I suppose I have answered my own question, they haven't actually done any research as to where I live, simply where the parking ticket was issued to back in 2016?0 -
If the new owner exported the car, then what incentive does the new owner have to notify the DVLA about change of ownership?
The answer to that of course is - none whatsoever.
I would suggest to you that the car is still registered in your name as you appear to have not notified the DVLA of the sale.0 -

A parking firm can't ask the DVLA again, later. They are not allowed.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
