Oh, i know you didn't mean anything negative
I'm just glad my two aren't pesterers. They do have a good 'huff' face now and again but they know that bleating on about something doesn't make a blind bit of difference other than annoying us! haha
That's irritating about the account anomaly - is it likely to become apparent once the account catches up with itself with pending payments? Strange, but at least it's not the other way around?Sealed Pot Challenge 075
Pay off by Xmas 2019 #02 - target £10,0000 -
I think all children have those faces at times. I can't help but thank my lucky stars with my two compared to some of their friends. A few have serious money and their demands of latest phones, bags make horrendous. I do love buying things for mine, because no matter the cost they're always genuinely thankful.
The banking thing has definitely confused me. Just checked and the pet food bought the other day has finally gone out (£3.95) and available and balance both the same yay £126.28. Have sent hubs a reminder text saying don't forget diesel on way home. It's 3p a litre cheaper than closest garage and he had to turn into forecourt off his route so no trip out of of way because he's forgotten. Every penny is a prisoner at the minute. Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -
Had a lovely (but busy) weekend. Did really well at local festival only spent £22 in total abd took friend's daughter so could have got away with less. The weather certainly helped as didn't want to stay long.
Money wise it's been pouring out! Hubby withdrew £70 for weekend and has balance hanging around. He does annoy me as he reaches gif card rather than spending the cash, so it's like double hit! He is owed some cash around £25 for things he bought (lunch, drinks abd parking) at my hospital appointments last week. Will try and wrestle rest off him at some point.
We've spent a fortune on fuel loads more than budgeted abd have filled up £80 in last week alone. The kids have been busy and hubby had to go to awards thing, so loads of extra mileage.
Need to do a food shop tonight, so trying to cut it right down. Account isn't looking good at all, so just trying to limit any OD use.
Seen two steps forward and one back at the minute. I need to get a grip on the little top up shops in coop when hubby adds beer and chocolate. Looking at receipt trackers that's the money drain! Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -
Hi CG
Glad you all enjoyed the festival and coming in under budget is a big bonus :T Weather here has been atrocious, today is the first dry one in ages, although it's beginning to look a bit iffy now.
Is there ever a week when extras don't pop up I ask myself *sigh*. I know there always seems to be something.
Confession time coming up. After coming in under budget with my shopping and putting a grand total of £2.25 into the savings pot DD came home for a few days so I went out and topped up some stuff to the tune of over £20.
She's officially moving out of halls this weekend and is coming home although I've no idea for how long so no doubt shopping will go up rather than down for the next few weeks. So, you're not alone in money pouring out, not that knowing that will make you feel any better :rotfl:
Have a lovely day. xx0 -
It's crazy where it goes off £2/3 a time coop on junk and the account is empty!
I had an email from school saying DD music lessons due by 7th July. I had £53 abd few pence in the pot so moved £50 leaving £85 to find out of this month's pay. I'm
Looking forward to getting these pots filled up so it's way waiting, but that'll take a bit more time.
My other DD has been invited to take part in a foreign exchange next year for a week. She loves her languages so needs decide if she wants to France or Spain. The cost is around £370 each abd they want a £100 deposit at the end of the money. No budget or pot for this so think I'm going to pinch it out the cleaner's savings (£122) so not putting under more pressure next month. Was hoping to save and pay lump off CC with this, but it'll safe me having to find it.Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -
My pots emptying quicker than I can fill them tea! I'm feeling really frustrated with our money (or lack of it) seems to be never ending. I need to get EF back to 1k but nothing spare for a while. Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230

Food shopping tonight. Hubby had £40 in cash so it really helped focus our spending. Did need washing powder and conditioner which pushed us over. Total spend was £53.37 so only £13.37 on the joint account. Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230

Finally another NSD for June! Think that's our 3rd which is a terrible effort!
Have meal planned and cleaned the fridge yesterday! Hubby and I had good chat whilst shopping and both decided need to stay away for all shops between our weekly shop...it's the only answer. Both too weak to resist the temptation:eek:
Had another eBay sale last night so another 10ish in PayPal account. Going to get it moved over to my sealed pot. It's good to know that the children's Christmas presents are covered. Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -
Morning CG
What a great opportunity for DD to take part in the exchange. Has she decided which country to go to yet? I think using the cleaning pot is a good idea. It would have been nice to put it to the CC but f it's not been earmarked for a specific bill, DD's trip seems a good way to use it.
It does take a while for the pots to fill up especially if you're using them every month but at least you have some money in them to use and there will be a point where you get ahead of yourself. When that happens and you can just go and get the money to pay for something it's a brilliant feeling.
I'm giving up on the shopping for the time being. Got up this morning to find DD asleep on the sofa. According to hubby she shared a taxi home with her friend after a night out and rolled in at 6am this morning  So I have a feeling apart from going to get her stuff at weekend I'll now be officially feeding her for a couple of weeks.Kids!
Have a lovely day. xx0 -
I think she's decided on Spain as she's stronger in french. Quite surprised as her bestie going to france but makes not difference in cost. The 'not having the cleaner' pot was a good idea but once I've looted it for the trip I think I'm going to rename it as family fun pot. We've 4 free tickets for Alton towers that need using this year. Planning on camping near by in sept as a back to school treat. The school want £100 as cheque (not on cashless payment) so will scoop £22 across to activities pot.
Today was supposed to be NSD but my lovely window as turned up out the blue £14. I've also had chance to buy stack of revision books and cards for DD1 for £25. This includes set of science books which are duplicates of ones I paid £33 at Easter. DD2 will need them next year so although it's more unexpected spending they're too cheap not to buy abd are immaculate as friends son not studious.
Joint account is horrendous! Currently £73 in OD which is gutting. We've stayed out of it for so long, but budget blown this month.
Window cleaner £14 will pay tonight as don't think it's fair to make him wait until pay day.
Revision books £25
Fuel again £30
That'll take us to £142 in overdraft. Dog is going to groomers tomorrow, so will take that out the pot so not adding to the debt!
I'm feeling really cross with myself and feel like slipped massively on food budget. All the extra treats and bits have skinned us. Must get a grip! Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230
