I'm sorry Choccygirl I know I shouldn't but the jump from either having a bath or taking morphine make me giggle. I do know what you mean though. Hubby used fentanyl patches for a while many years ago. Hope your pain is subsiding now.

Well done on the 3rd NSD. Think I'll be joining you. I decided not to buy flowers and stayed in and baked a cake instead. Good for the purse but not for the waist :o

Haha that's ok it's definitely one or the other abd I wouldn't feel safe doing both! I only took a half dose, but it was enough to take the pain away. Managed not to fall asleep either which is a bonus

Swapped to edf energy on fixed tariff to feb 2021. Dd shooting up yo £106 so will have to start nagging the kids to keep everything off! I did it through Quidco abc should get £70, which will be a lovely little bonus to my sealed pot challenge!

No lt a nsd today I'm afraid, as have bits the bullet and ordered a new shredder from amazon £35. My littke 8year one has died and a huge bag of shredding is hanging around. Means I'll have to have a tighter budget, but there was a little wiggly room. Nsd total for jan is 3.

Hubby is going to nip and get bread and milk today so should be less than £2.50.We've not withdrawn our £200 food budget yet and doing really well using up supplies and veg.

I've planned our meals and worked out veg exactly.

Sat dinner - spag Bol on the hob and 2 meals (4people) for freezer.

    Sunday
    brekkie - porridge
lunch - homemade soup from 1/2 left over veg Dinner- rest of veg and an Iceland pork joint (4for £10) it's just enough for 4 but will bulk it out with some h/m Yorkshire puds. 4 to eat and 8 to freeze.

    Monday
    Brekkie toast & cereal
Lunch - left of h/m soup, fruit and Christmas biscuit
Dinner - shep pie from freezer

Going shopping Monday night for weekly shop. This is unbelievablely our first proper shop since 23rd December. We have bought bread and milk top up and fresh fruit and veg. I'm amazed we've been so much better organised and not had any food waste. We've still got s mountain of biscuits abd sweet things so shop will be the basics.

3/5 NSD's is really good Choccygirl. Can't remember if I've seen you on the January NSD challenge board but do you have an amount you're aiming for? I'm trying for 15, today will be Number 4. Feel like I want to get them out of the way :rotfl:

Wow, I'm really impressed with your food shopping or rather lack of it :T I've had to do several top ups trying to get myself back into a routine and I still won't really be there until next week. Usual shopping day is Weds. This week I ordered Monday, next week it'll be Tues then hopefully after that back to normal. I really wish soup or baked potatoes would be considered a proper meal in this house. Hubby would eat both but would see the soup as a starter and be sat there waiting for the meat to arrive and a baked potato as an alternative to other potatoes on the plate :o

Hope you've taken it easy today and you're not in as much pain. Have a lovely evening. x

Thanks tea 3/5 isn't bad going, I'm really chuffed. I'm hoping for 20 but that seems really high. I've seen the challenge and my nsd are completely nsd....not even allowed fuel. Keeping hubby in check is the hard part with his obsession of running out of bread.

I think we'll be well ready for shopping on Monday night. I used to do on my mornings off, but now have to fit in with hubby.

Done bin more pottering upstairs and sold 2 items on Facebook for £23. That's gone straight into my sealed pot much to the dismay of hubby. He thought I should have keir it to top up our budget. I'm on a mission that we have to live with a budget no matter how big or small. Christmas 2019 will be a good one at this rate with nice wedge of cash saved up all year.

  • Health - Feeling sad today, as rugby is back on and they've all disappeared. House is so quiet abd it's the realisation that it's a trial run for tomorrow. I've loved having everyone at home with family and friends all popping in and visiting. I feel like My life is on hold and that's me back to the long days house bound. I've got huge to do list to keep me busy, so I won't be miserable.

Money - today is number 4/6 NSD which I'm chuffed to bits with! The meal planning is really helping and I'm starting to feel in control.

Motivation - I've been awake since 8, but enjoyed a bit of tv and done my usual banking checks. I feel really well rested and ready to go! I'm going to get up and have another 30mins blitz in the spare room ....more Sorting and re-organising storage. Then downstairs for brekkie, sort some washing abd a nice cups of tea. Will do daily routine wiping worktops, sorting dishwasher, prepping veg for Sunday lunch and will make pan of soup. They should all be back then and I'll have a rest before tackling the uniform ironing. Rest of day will be lazy!

Scrap the 4/6 nsd.....it's 3/6 now. Hubby decided too much on tomorrow with kids bank to school and activities. Whilst they were at rugby I've checked store and freezer supplies and have meal planned upto 18th jan. the shopping list was a whopper (few extra brexit prepping bits) so I'm thinking £80. It's over the weeks budget of £60, but figured next week won't be as heavy. Hubby taken the eldest whilst I finish tidying kitchen and gave a shower. Let's see if they can stick to only the list!

I always have mixed emotions when school holidays are over. On one hand I really miss having the DC around but on the other I'm always glad to have the house back to myself and some sort of routine in my life. I can float around for so many days but deep down I really do like to know what I'm doing and when :o

3/6 NSD is still really good. From what I've read most people put a caveat in theirs, myself included, so for your NSD to really be not spending a penny is a big challenge.

I've a few bits for Brexit on my list as well this week, all basic stuff that'll get used eventually which is the main thing.

Hope you're enjoying your Sunday. x

My hubby is so good with a list that he suddenly thinks of something we do need but not on the list so he doesnt get it
that doesnt help as he says he will go back for it (especially if its for him :) ) but I put it on the next list

if I go he says oh we could get so and so save you cooking but I am not going to be as easily swayed this year

I am sure when they are all back at work and school you wont be as lonely as you think PMmeif you need a chat
    Emergency fund £10,000
    Several categories with savings in
    Cars, house maintenance, birthdays
Etc I have about 10 categories

Really happy to be debt free after being a compulsive spender

    Thanks Aaleigha I will do.

The shop was epic and they did come back with quite a few extras. It was £82.82!

He took out brexit prep char to heart and bought extra roll tin foil, wet dog meat that I never give the dog as has complete dry food, extra pack of samosa for freezer, huge bag of crisps, two bottles of fabric condition, extra bread load, extra crumpets, extra lemonade, 4 tins of beans, extra block butter, huge bag of peppers I've had to chop as no frozen ones and finally extra 6 eggs! I think we'd have been close to £70 looking at bill with extras but it'll get used. At least they didn't stock on up the Aldi specials so can't complain.

Will let the accounts catch up with all the spending and I'll do a new budget. Just need to keep a close grip as we've already bought the shredder. I'd forgotten about kid's pocket money too and they do so much extra around the house I don't want to forget that!
