  • Very random my post gone. So yesterday a mileage claim surprise from Hubby's work, amazon refund arrived and we had a NSD. Shopped around and found breakdown cover for hubby for £28, do will buy on pay day.

Today balance £139.38 & £32 on its way from Quidco

Today is another lazy house day, getting tidied up and caught with with some boring house things. It's a rare Sunday morning off as kid's sports cancelled. We need to go food shopping and I've done the meal planning and shopping list last night.

    Budget to pay day
    £45 shopping today
£75 rugby boots (still go find some, hopefully cheaper)
    Half term treats £50
Leaves £1/£2 in the account until pay day, althoug due to have £34 will be taken out as agreed to swap to multi policy. Going to borrow this from EF as should come from next months DD, but they have to take it early. Next DD is taken 2/12, so will pay the EF back on pay day.

  • Holy moly so much for good budget! Hubby spent £77.66 in Aldi huge food shop and £23 in Tesco on Chinese takeaway treat with his toiletries. £100 gone we've had good chat abd think we need to re think our food budget. He's planning for friends coming over during half term, stocked up on cheese and other bits. I can't be mad, as not well enough to go myself.

He did also buy £11,49 of plants out of half term treat money. The kids asked if we could do the baskets and pots whilst they're off. It'll keep them busy for an afternoon outside, away from the wi-go so can't complain. That leaves £38.51 which is though for swim abd cinema.

  • Happy half term Monday! Nothing planned today apart from some baking, board games and time with the kids whilst hubby at work. A no spending day!

    Today's number
    £56.55 available in joint
£15 in old bank notes to change
    £124.21 in my account
    £1000 in EF

With such a spendy day yesterday the eldest's rugby boots are on hold until pay day unless hubby gets time to take a trip. With me not driving time a luxury, so will have to pinch the cash from EF.

  • Another chilled out house day with the kids. Theyve been so tired they're happily tidying their rooms and sorting stuff out. They know hard with me not driving and know got things planned later in the week.

Money - cosmetic refund on its way 7/10 days £25 fir the oil return after it caused an itchy red reaction. Have 'borrowed' £25 from my account and will pay cheque in to replace once it arrives.

    Balance joint £81.55
    £15 old bank notes
My account £91.24 waiting for £25 refund

Have been thinking about selling surplus huge garden pot we don't have space for. Listed it locally and 3 people want it £25 cash when it's collect. Will add this to monthly spend which with old notes takes us to £121.55 :j

    Budget spends
    Swim & cinema treats £38
    Rugby boots £75 (hopefully less)

I'm always going to arrange to return my daughter's proactiv kit. She's used it for 3 weeks but is drying her skin and making it sore. Will squeeze surplus out to save of my postage costs. Should be £26 refund. Will get her to try my Claire's abd see how she gets on.

  • Another NSD planned today tidying and sorting and chilling with the kids.

I have moved £15 'borrowed' from my account and I'll pay the old notes in when I recieve the £25 refund cheque.

    Joint account £96.55
My account £84.21 (£15 old notes, £25 cheque to pay in)

I sat down and did an updated budget for November. We've got dog related costs of £105 and music lessons £125 which take a big chunk out of available cash. Hubby and I both realise our food budget is killing the budget and we need to save there. We should have £250 at least for Xmas presents.

  • I'm looking skat our debt and know we can't really afford to pay off any additional debts whilst on on £92 a week sick pay (that's before tax) I'll be happy if we can scrape through Christmas without using the credit cards or overdrafts.

As a token effort I've increased the minimum payment in hubbies 0% credit card to £100 every month. It'll be a small overpayment if £15ish every month. It's not a lot, but it's something.

Our car tax due next month and it's currently paid every 6 months £81. I've spoken to them and can cancel the direct debit and redo paying monthly. Would free up around £67 next month which would go a long way in the Christmas pot. I'm going to think about it and if I can find my V5 easily will do.

  • Arrrrghhhh it was going so well! Hubby needed fuel this morning and he took £20 out as needs money for parking at the hospital. This is after he spent £5 on chocolate treats out of my garden pot £25 sale. Roll on pay day is all I can say!

    Balance joint £53.16 😩
    £20 cash
    My account £84.21 (£40 pending cheque &oldnotes)
    EF £1000

I've still got the £33idh to think about that is being taken to finish the car insurance before swaps to multi car. Will borrow this from the EF.

I just feel like one step forward and two back. I've been scraping around trying to keep out the OD and hubby blissfully unaware. I'm still planning on trip to cinema with kids tomorrow £27 but have scrapped the swimming. We've got £15 of vouchers to get popcorn and drinks so a real treat.

Kids are off camping with scouts this weekend which is all paid for (thAnkfully) it's a huge Halloween event do they'll have a great time sat-sun. It makes up for being stuck at home all week.
