Is this a neutral?

Well I'm going to go against most opinion here - I'd neutral the seller.
Reason being I sell on ebay and 100% of the time dispatch on the day I say I'm going to. Because I hold high standards for myself, I expect the same high standards from other sellers if I'm buying. I don't want to be buying from somebody who posts out when they can be bothered.
The problem here isn't the delivery date by the way - IMO the seller got lucky with RM delivering within 3 days, and with ebay extending delivery estimates - the problem here is the dispatch time.
Ordered 19th - promised dispatch 21st - didn't bother sending until after Christmas on the 27th?! No excuse.
The seller could have sent it on the 21st which is when they were supposed to, they could have sent it on the 22nd, they could even possibly have sent it on the 23rd morning, but they did none of that.
Sorry but that's poor, poor customer service, it really is. For me it's a deserved neutral any day of the week - I'm sure many forum members who sell on ebay will have had neuts and negs for less.
As far as I'm concerned, a neutral should be given as a lesson, and the seller hopefully should learn from it0 -
For goodness sake, in the circumstances does it matter? Why not a positive but just 'a bit late' in the feedback. It arrived safely, does it matter how it got there?
Does someone lying matter?
Perhaps not to you, no, but I personally do not like people who lie to me, so would leave low stars and maybe even a neutral for that reason.
If they'd replied saying they had completely forgotten to post it but would do it ASAP, then fair enough.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
All this agonised bleating...what does it matter?0

No excuse apart from the fact the OP specifically told the seller there was no rush to send and they didn't need it till after Christmas. Someone who doesn't sell much on Ebay, has a lot to do over Christmas, would take the no rush comment as an invitation to get to the post office whenever they get the chance.
It still stands that you can not tell a seller not to rush sending something but then complain when they do what you say and don't rush sending.0 -

It seems a valid question to me. Ultimately most posts don't really matter compared to many things in life, but that's not really a criteria for whether something should be posted or not on this forum.
Personally I think it probably deserves a neutral for not providing accurate information, but equally I've had this and I just haven't left any feedback as I've just assumed something bad might have happened and I don't want to compound the issue (unless I notice that they've had a long history of poor feedback for the same thing).0 -

To me "no rush" still doesn't mean "just take the mick and post it after a week"
But then again I'm looking at it from a professional seller's point of view, rather than a buyer purchasing from an inexperienced amateur point of view
But then I suppose we'd all take it to mean different things, as it's rather a vague statement.0
