Missed the Farmers Market :o - first I had a bath, then DH wanted to watch the 1st TT race - timegot away from us  However I did put a load in the wm, washed up a few cups & am now starting a cs bag :T

    B660 - B720: 22 bottle caps, 37 fridge magnets, plastic pill box

Load is out of the wm & the wm is now running empty for a ‘Drum Clean’even though I have at least four more loads to go in

I am torn now between having another MK in my wardrobe, decluttering the bathroom or just sitting in the sun :rotfl: Maybe I can do all three in 15 minute bursts :rotfl: a radical approach I know :rotfl: Just need to be mindful that each room looks tidier when I leave it :rotfl:

    See you later

  • I was so pleased, Basketcase, - maybe not correct emotion- to know someone else has decluttered a bolt of fabric. Back in the UK I gave a bolt of 35 metres to CS who were astounded. I had got it in a factory clearance and, as one does, never got round to making the three pairs of curtains .Ah well the bolt is probably lurking in another cupboard. No decluttering today as it is sunny and I've been out in the garden.
Keep up the good work, everyone.

    Back again :rotfl:

The new regime has had an addition, compliments of villagelife :T So now:-

    1. IF I NOTICE SOME SMALL TASK NEEDS DOING - I WILL DO IT IMMEDIATELY

    2. I WILL LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I WENT IN - WITHOUT HIDING THE CLUTTER EXCEPT for the wardrobe room which is currently the storage room (sr)

I decided on 15 mins in the bathroom :rotfl: and was surprised that time flew & I did 34 mins :rotfl:

The top of the bathroom cabinet & the window shelf/sill now only have one of each item in use. All the duplicates are in a single box in the sr. The ‘outside’ of the cabinet has been cleaned as well as the glass shelf & items returned clean, neat & tidy. The sink has had an initial scrub & now has 2 hairbrushes soaking in soapy water :rotfl:

B721 - B723 Old bottle of sun protection, manky razor & old flannel - BINNED
    B724 - B725 Old bath mats binned

I have decided to ignore my wardrobe & intersperse sunning myself with continuing in the bathroom :rotfl:

B726 Empty beer bottle rinsed & recycled

Sorry to keep hogging the thread :o but I need something to keep me on track :rotfl:

MrsSD pleased that my idea is being useful. I find it helps with stuff others leave lying about. At times it's only straightening the cushions on the sofa and other times it becomes a half hour job!

733 more old envelopes and junk mail shredded that others had left in the hall. I never include my post as I shred and do something with it straight away.
734 a bag of rubbish binned that Had been dug up in the garden. It includes nails, hinges, plastic bags and string.

20/52 - very slow and unsteady seems to be my current approach but eventually I have another update of some items leaving the house,

a bag of clothes and textiles to recycling,
a book to the charity bin,
and some board game packaging recycled!

Just looked back on my numbering system  & no, my DSis did not open 53 cans :rotfl: - my starting point is B731 :rotfl:

Two loads of washing done, one load dried, folded & put away & the 2nd load currently drying in the evening sunshine

Abandoned the bathroom cleaning :p as cba to go upstairs. So started a new task in the kitchen :rotfl: Starting with the upper cupboards, I am trying to release ‘aspirational’ stuff & also reorganise. Unfortunately this means that I am currently failing miserably re No.2 but so far

    B732 - B733 plastic bottles rinsed & recycled
B734 plastic milk carton rinsed & recycled
    B735 - B739 Small cardboard packets recycled
    B740 - B745: 9 year old packets of coffee beans - binned

I will have to come back later as iPad is low on charge

Back again - enough charge to finish off :rotfl:

Filling a large cs bag with donations from Germany :rotfl: compliments of my DB & his family :rotfl:

B746 - B758 Pair of child’s wellies, Toy plastic Lidded bucket (containing 11 coloured containers as per Russian Dolls), boxed ‘Gross Magic’ set, plastic toy, German picture book, Oasis CD, boxed wooden jigsaw game, unopened jar of Body Butter, unopened jar of Body Scrub, plastic sword, plastic sword in scabbard, wrap around sticker of Luneburg (for glass tea light holder) & a bicycle pump.

DSis has laid claim to a hanging storage thingy for her room & a boxed children’s memory game - for a Christmas gift (very MSE of her :T) + a pretty glass sugar bowl (from me) as a trinket holder :)

The next lot is items from my partial sort out of kitchen cupboards

B759 - B771 Large mug, stoneware mug (Salies de Bearn motif), glass with lid, Lidded pottery sugar bowl, 2 small glass pots with handles & holey lids (mementoes from Mt. St. Helen’s, USA), lidded metal icing sugar shaker and 6 glass dessert bowls

Tomorrow I WILL CONTINUE KITCHEN SORT OUT :rotfl: - as you can see I am desperate to get stuff out :rotfl: & cleaning the bath & bathroom floor will just not cut the mustard :rotfl:

Just an aside - really hot weather means I do not fancy eating so hopefully I am decluttering a few lbs :rotfl:

    Apologies for hogging the thread:o
