2018 - No Clutter To Be Seen

So far today have taken an old coat and dressing gown to the charity shop, put a pair of old gutties in the bin and posted a book and a dress that I sold on eBay. Hoping to make a bit more headway this afternoon.

I need to get back on to this - we did well in 2016, following the Kondo checklist initially, and bits of the house felt a whole lot better - and we were surprised how much that impacted on us. But everything has slipped, life got busy and we had to empty my aunt's flat so we could sell it as she's now in a nursing home. The flat is now sold (completed yesterday!) so it's time to move on and get back to sorting.
I've committed to spending 20 minutes on average each day in 2018 declutering - or longer if that's what it takes to clear 6 items! I'm already 'behind' as we're still away on holiday, but going home today and fancying a blitz over the next few days whilst work is relatively quiet.
Will be lurking on here looking for inspiration!Declutter our home in 2024

Will also be taking items to car boot to attempt to sell before taking to skip to hopefully help towards paying off my CC through another challenge by Xmas 2018. Looking forward to the motivation the thread will give to declutter and sort a little each day.
Would you not take anything that doesn't sell at a car boot sale to a charity shop? I have the thought of anything that still has life in it going to landfill - part of the reason I'm in this mess :rotfl:3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -

Above to charity shop
Normally when I take a bag of clothes to a charity shop I start a new one. However, my clothes are currently fairly well organised and not causing too much clutter, plus I have got rid of a lot, due to losing weight :j
My summer clothes are in a suitcase and the rest are in two wardrobes and two chests of drawers. Still far too many but I'm not treating them as a priority, as they are currently well organised.
I have started another charity shop bag with some books and a few other odds and ends and will count them when they're gone. I've put all my Xmas cards, apart from the one from my son, in the car boot and will take them to one of the shops that has recycling facilities for them.
6/7 out of date debit and credit cards, in bin
Annoyingly, I can't find one of my current credit cards. I bought 3 tops on it before Xmas and want to return them.
8) several rolls/sheets of Xmas paper
Put these in recycling bin. Most of it had never been used but was crumpled/dusty and I have better.
Organised the rest of the paper/cards/tags and other Xmas paraphernalia into 2 bags ready to go in the loft. DS would usually go up in the loft for me but we're not on the best of terms at the moment, sadly3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -

But if it won't sell at a car boot will it sell from a charity shop? We have to be careful about dumping unsellable items on charity shops which increase their costs as they have to dispose of them, just to avoid our own guilty feelings about throwing things away.Make £2025 in 2025

Managed to get rid of a few bits today, would have liked to have cleared more but had to get some studying done, as already behind and back to work tomorrow. Did managed to list 11 items on eBay, which always takes longer than you think. Have 3 bids already so hopefully a few pennies recouped for the pot.
Out of the house today
8 Paper bags to recycle bin

Made a start today. 14 bits of paperwork either shredded or recycled.
Decided to also do 2018 old emails from 2017 and earlier over the year as I have thousands which need deleting and/or dealing with.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -
Well I've made a basic start - 1 item sold through Facebook that was posted yesterday!
I've started a new job this week so I'm a bit drained in the evenings, but will get cracking with the proper sorting next week!0
