I found it hard in some ways - although I know he isn't going to move back it makes it more real somehow - but I'm struggling to get my own house in order (literally) and don't think I should have to deal with his possessions.
I am fed up of asking him. He says he hasn't got roomI am just going to get rid a bit at a time and when I visit take a boxful with me. Just waiting for a charity collection and the clothes will go.

I made sure I had done enough washing for kids to go back to school tomorrow so I wouldn't have to wash today.I have lived by this superstition for many years, despite hating being behind with washing.SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

Had a lazy day today but managed to make a start.
1) odd sock belonging to a grandchild but no one will claim it.
2) ancient mobile phone
3,4,5) 2x pj bottoms and a skanky t shirt
6) strange plug thing (probably from a guitar) been in fruit bowl months
7,8,9) three scented candles now burning away in living room0 -
Happy new year!!
I’m so up for this! Made a good start last year, although don’t feel I’ve made a dent yet.
Decs down today and cleared up the festive clutter. Cards in the recycling.
I aim to be less sentimental over possessions than I have been. It’s only stuff that I have to shuffle around and dust. I’d be richer time-wise without it which is important...
I have bags ready for the charity shop which will go next weekend as I’m back to work tomorrow...Debt free January 2019.
Now working on the mortgage! :beer:0 -
Hi, would like to join in please for 2018. Been lurking for a while last year and used the 2017 thread for motivation to get our clutter under control. Periodically we blitz areas and feel a sense of achievement, but before long it looks as bad as ever. I started to count items last September and managed over 400. We need to reduce the stuff coming in so have used the Xmas break to cancel a couple of magazine subscriptions and write to a few companies to get us off mailing lists - hope it works. Good luck to you all.0

I’d like to join please. I’ll aim for 2018 things, but could quite likely be more. I want to get rid of about 50% of stuff cluttering up the house this year, as it’s stressing me out no end. So far today:

2 bags out today. 1 of books in the car ready to distribute at work. Also returning 2 books to their owners. A second bag of plastic trays and loo roll tubes went to t he allotment. Last year's calender, an incomplete pack of playing cards, an old battered tin plus 2 buckets of card and bottles gone into recycling. This is a good start. I would have hung onto the calender and tin if it wasn't for this challenge. XxWife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor.
