Two more bags gone. One of business books to my Dil. It was very heavy that bag, should have divided it into two :rotfl: So now 38/52 :D

A bag of bits and pieces plus a few books to my MiL and FiL. If the books come back, which they may do sooner or later, they are straight off the CS.

In clearing, the photo shelves are now clear and relocated into our dining room to be kitchen and office, ready for the work to start. Also done was the removal of heavy items from the garage to the sheds at the end fo the garden. We are storing a washer and fridge plus other things for a girlfriend of DS3.

Unfortunately she has made no move to get them somewhere else and she is staying with her Mum but not doing anything about moving out. DH has threatened to and WIL take them to the tip if they are not gone by spring. Even I am losing my patience.

More work to be done all over the place over the weekend which I hope will result in a load of carp making its way out.

  • 1. IF I NOTICE SOME SMALL TASK NEEDS DOING - I WILL DO IT IMMEDIATELY

    2. I WILL LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I WENT IN - WITHOUT HIDING THE CLUTTER EXCEPT for the wardrobe room which is currently the storage room (sr)

    3. THE LAST WASHING UP OF THE DAY WILL BE PUT AWAY BEFORE I GO TO BED

Another lovely day - plenty of sunshine but still not as hot as I would like :rotfl:

DH & DSis went skip diving for wood :rotfl: as DH is building me a collapsible table for the new shed & a waist high raised bed on legs for herb growing. Permission was sought from the builders :rotfl: Had a nice chat with our next door neighbour who thought it was hilarious :rotfl:

My mojo put in a brief appearance today so I went shopping for a few bits but ended up doing a full shop :o including the refills for the spices/herb cupboard & topping up the baking shelf + a few more bits for the freezers which are now completely full  A bit of freezer Tetris was required but I did manage to fit everything in and I updated my lists :rotfl: :rotfl:
I cleaned the kitchen fridge shelves & drawers & sorted & listed the contents :T Will do the door tomorrow :rotfl:

Bit of a panic early this evening  I have started a bit of an emergency fund (in case Brexit causes any problems) and couldn’t find the special purse I had designated as ‘the keeper of the cash’ :rotfl: The contents of my go to drawer are now all over the floor:eek: (will sort tomorrow :o) & the purse wasn’t there  So I sat down & calmed down :D & lo & behold, it came to me - the footstool :rotfl: :D Panic over & heart rate back to normal :D

Dinner tonight was oven cooked sausages, mash, fried onions & baked beans - absolutely scrumptious. DSis thoroughly enjoyed the pork & leek sausages from the butchers :T - she usually only likes plain pork sausages :rotfl:

    Re my three mantras - aired & made bed; washed up, dried up & put away as I went along; washed down kitchen work surfaces; cleaned fridge; also stripped the two sm bought rosemary plants which were looking decidedly droopy - washed, dried, chopped & potted & put in freezer; general tidying;

The day to day decluttering has generated

    C176 - C179 Tin, 2 tins & lids, glass bottle - rinsed & recycled
    C180 - C185 Leaflet, 5 bits of cardboard packaging - Recycled
C186 - C199 Non recyclable - three plastic bags, plastic tray & packaging, 6 lots of plastic packaging, 2 plastic garden pots, padded envelope, uu liquid soap refill plastic container - ALL Binned
C200 DH put empty paint tin in neighbour’s skip

May the MOJO be with all of us :rotfl:

    A fairly productive day

Found my previous posts when we were moving. De-cluttered almost 600 things. Only took a year to collect another 100! :(

I let things slide a bit longer than I should have due to surgery and the too hot weather. Will keep a tighter grip now everything is getting back to normal as the clutter was really getting me down tbh.

Another lovely day - plenty of sunshine but still not as hot as I would like & very windy :(

donnajt, sorry to hear about your mum.
Welcome to our happy band of declutterers :T - a very good start to your journey & a generous donation :T

    Sa1sysoo, excellent work :T

bit by bit, well done on the books :T Very generous of you to store furniture for DS3’s gf - but not very thoughtful of her to take advantage :(.

:T Well done MrsStepford - always surprises everyone how much room is taken up by books :o

Hi BettiePage, well done :T lots of stuff out :T

Sunday my mojo transferred itself to my DH & DSis. They went shopping for compost, hinges etc & shelves for the shed. Then DH started to build the collapsible table whilst DSis painted the shelves in forget-me-not blue. ALL I managed was sorting the drawer I emptied yesterday & made a Shepherd’s Pie from scratch - it was delicious.

    Re my three mantras - aired & made bed; washed up, dried up & put away as I went along; washed down kitchen work surfaces; cleaned oven; refilled sugar bowl & coffee & tea bags jars; general tidying;

The day to day decluttering has generated

    C201 - C204 Tin, plastic bottle, 2 Milk cartons - rinsed & recycled
C205 - C208 Paper packaging, cardboard packaging, toilet roll tube, glass jar - Recycled
C209 - C216 Non recyclable - three plastic bags, two large plastic bags, plastic tray & packaging, 2 lots of plastic packaging - ALL Binned
    C217 DH emptied & recycled a 5L keg

May the MOJO be with all of us :rotfl:

Mrs SD I'm definitely a tortoise!!!
Been on a real slowly slowly due to health but pleased with what I've got done. Was writing things down as sorting them

*202- 214 unwanted items and beanies packed and ready to send to charity
*215 half a metal broken pencil case now in recycling
*216 old beanie tags now in recycling
*217 packaging used to box up the above ready for sending

Really pleased that the beanies have been sorted, and so is my mum as some were being stored at hers so have one job ticked off my list and raising a few quid for charity at the same time. Presents I had received for last Christmas that i couldnt use or regift are also included in the above for the charity creating some space in my bedroom, not much but abit

bit by bitI couldn't do it anyway but how you put ur own kitchen in, I put my hands up and admit that there is no way I would ever be able to do that, my nerves couldn't stand it. Got to have my ceiling redone tomorrow after a bad leak....im dreading it

  • Back to decluttering after a bit of stomach trouble-now over and fully recovered.

333-335 plants out of pots and into flowerbed.I buy too many plants and them am slow to do anything with them . the side of the house now looks neater. Pots awaiting return of the gardeners who raise plants for the CS.
336 pile of old plant labels and rubbish from garden to bin
337 pile of old holiday brochures and receipts to recycling.

And now for the story behind 337. I was up at the top shelf in the walkin hotpress looking at the duvets and blankets when I came across a tote bag behind one of the big plastic tubs. Inside were two handbags and a plastic bag with the old holiday stuff. I sorted it and found 80 pounds , yes 80 quid in sterling left over from the trip. Tiny snag-they are old tenners but will keep. Just goes to show - look in every cranny when decluttering. Of course the bags went back up there.
A warm welcome to the newcomers and thanks to all of you for keeping up the good work. (I sound like a teacher!) And yes, the garden is looking much neater.
