    IrishRose, don’t you just love an empty drawer :rotfl: it really lifts your spirits :D Keep up the good work :):T

    bit by bit, :T well done on the books :T I love it that you have the very first book you purchased :D Can I ask what book? I am amazed that last year I managed to donate a couple of hundred books (mostly paperbacks) to BHF who collected along with a couple of bits of furniture. I have kept a couple of sets & need to buy the last book in each set then reread + I kept several copies of Lord of the Rings. Now I just have to persuade DH to release a hundred or so books which are cluttering up his office :rotfl:

    Today has been a very pleasant day - no rain :T although mostly overcast. However it has been pleasantly warm with a gentle breeze & the sun peeping through on occasion :). The clouds are now clearing & I can see lots of blue sky :) but the breeze is picking up :( DH & I are having leftover mushroom, chicken & pea risotto made into patties, coated in breadcrumbs & fried with possibly a fried egg & I am adding a bit of rocket & lettuce to my plate. DSis is having heated up leftover onion pasta. We all enjoyed our meals & the only leftovers in the fridge is the half bag of rocket which I will have tomorrow :D

    Today THE SHED arrived. The lads were happy with the base that DH & DSis had lovingly prepared :rotfl: Start to finish including a mug of tea/coffee the two lads put up the shed & drove off in 35 minutes :T It is a work of art - individually constructed in real wood, proper lock with a key & a glass window that opens:T As the weather was nice, DH & DSis put two coats of grey paint on the shed. Weather permitting the trim will be painted in sky blue tomorrow :T Have put various bits in the shed & LOCKED the door :rotfl: I cannot stop smiling :D
    May the MOJO be with you :rotfl: Thanks for sending my mojo back basketcase :T:T
    I made lists of what was in each of my two freezers - one in kitchen the other in garage. Then I made new lists of what was going to be in each drawer so I know where everything is - like with like :rotfl: Then the real work began - having decided the order of the drawers & using my washing up bowl to carry, I dealt with one drawer at a time - kitchen freezer first. Everything stacked neatly, with the foodstuffs for the garage freezer just put where it would fit. Kitchen freezer sorted :T:T:j Then banished myself to the garage and sorted the drawers in the second freezer. DONE :rotfl: All in all, with writing the lists & then actually organising the freezer drawers it probably took me 2 hours :eek: but I am soooo happy :j:j Now the best bit - I can menu plan :j:j:j for a week :j:j rather than deciding day to day what to eat as I find that very stressful :(
    Tomorrow’s project is to clean the two fridges, then list & sort contents :rotfl: Then the next project will be to clean food cupboards, list & restock contents :rotfl: Hopefully by then I will have had a call back from cs re furniture collection! & can then start on new projects prior to decorating :rotfl:

    Re my three mantras - aired & made bed; washed up, dried up & put away as I went along; washed down kitchen work surfaces; vacuumed downstairs including kitchen floor; mopped kitchen floor; indoor bins emptied; filled sugar bowl (twice), teabags & coffee jars; also took a bit up rubbish from next door’s garden :rotfl:; general tidying;

    The day to day decluttering has generated

    C72 - C74 Plastic bottle, tin, plastic pot - rinsed & recycled
    C75 - C85 Magazine read by DSis, kitchen roll tube, 3 lots of cardboard packaging, paper packaging, 2 torn paper bags, junk mail (personal details shredded), egg carton, finished lists - Recycled
    C86 - C100 Non recyclable - 5 bits of plastic rubbish from next door (I will get my numbers up :rotfl:), 4 plastic bags, 4 lots of plastic packaging, plastic tray with packaging, large plastic pot filled with used oil - Binned

    May the MOJO be with all of us :rotfl:

    Well done edwink :T Since when has 47 only been ‘a few bits’ :rotfl:

    Today has been a dry day but not as warm as yesterday.

    Weather permitted :rotfl: so DH & DSis painted the trim in sky blue :T It looks very classy :rotfl:
    Tomorrow the inside walls will be painted with one coat of grey paint. Then I have the pleasure of working out what type of shelves etc to buy :T

    My mojo stayed with me today :T :rotfl:

    I did some phone banking & filing this morning so all squared away. Plus I transcribed yesterday’s hand written lists to my iPad :rotfl: Managed a chat with my neighbour who showed me her refurbed cloakroom. It was beautiful :T she is allowing me to take photos & apart from the floating toilet, I might appropriate all her other ideas :rotfl:
    Then I decided against cleaning the two fridges (might do that tomorrow :rotfl:), instead I jumped ahead to the kitchen cupboards :rotfl: but didn’t dive straight into the food cupboards :rotfl: I managed to rearrange a couple of cupboards & optimised storage space :rotfl::T Then I started on the Brexit Cupboard & more hand written lists :rotfl: I do so love my lists :D The two double shelves in the Brexit Cupboard are now full :T Have also managed to clean, sort & list contents of three of the four shelves in the food cupboard - only the baking shelf left :T Of course, this means that I have absolutely no excuse not to menu plan :rotfl: Although tonight The Colonel fed us :D

    Still no call back from cs re furniture collection :( so I will phone tomorrow & give them a deadline :D

    Re my three mantras - aired & made bed; washed up, dried up & put away as I went along; washed down kitchen work surfaces; decanted a few packets into various jars; general tidying;

    Morning everyone. Bit of a topsy turvy day yesterday, started decluttering the spare room and ended up stripping the wall paper !!!55357;!!!56834; now that wasnt in the plan to do for yesterday but hey ho, its done now, just need to buy wallpaper, all the essentials and find someone to paper it now.
    Today is going to go to plan, it has to lol. Need to move the furniture that is being donated downstairs for them to pick up tomorrow. So will need to make some big decisions I just know there's going to be regrets somewhere tomorrow, where I shouldn't have donated something or I should have donated something.

    Have sat this morning going through paperwork so that's a load of recycling to go out, might have a rummage through the cupboards too and see what's what there. Need to think about what's for dinner tonight too.

    Hi Happy Kitties: Yes, we built it and put it in ourselves. Mind you, I did take a doorway out a french door in our previous house, Then I put in a smaller door frame and panelled and plastered the wall I had made and put in work bench and shelving in the utility room, on my own and in one day. :D Fed up of doing our own stuff now though.

    Mrs SD: Congratulations on your shed. I am hoping for a big work room as wide as the garden in the next few years.

    You are doing amazingly on the cupboard front.

    My first book was Watership Down by Richard Adams. I was 13 at the time and spent my first book token. I also have several copies of Lord of the Rings. One still has the bookmark in place from when I stopped reading it when I had my daugther. I also have copies on Kindle and the BBC play on my MP3 player. I first read the book when I was 13 but I didn't fully read it until I was about 18, I kept getting bored with the second book.

    Books have been my safety since child and I will always have some. I just don't need walls of protection like I did. I have no trouble moving them on now. There are so mmany places to put them.

    IrishRose: you are doing really well. Empty draws, that is a long term dream :D

    IrishRose, I quite often get distracted from one task to another :rotfl: Now you have the fun of choosing wallpaper :D Re the actual wallpapering, I once read about a scheme where retired people were available to hire to do decorating, putting together flat pack furniture, gardening etc - is there anything like that in your area? Re the furniture donation - will you have time to cast an eye over the items again before the cs arrives? Anything you have doubts about can be kept :D You can always arrange another pick up later in the year :D
    I am still waiting for a date for my collection - now 2 months since I first enquired re a date :eek: but I have been promised that someone will phone me Friday & arrange a date :T but I won’t hold my breath :rotfl:

    Happy Kitties, sorry to hear about your medical issues - I hope that they are temporary. Do you remember the Aesop fable of the tortoise & the hare? Slow & steady wins the race :D

    bit by bit, I am very impressed :T - I have never have had the courage to tackle any big projects like that :o At least if you get someone in to do the work, you will be able to tell if they are swinging the lead ;) or trying to hoodwink you :rotfl:
    Have to admit that I had trouble with Lord of the Rings until it was announced that Peter Jackson was making the films :o Then I persevered & made sure I read the whole thing before the first film was released - (40 years of age before I read it :eek: but now have read the books about a dozen times:D & time to read again - I even read the full prologue :rotfl: each & every time :rotfl:) I thoroughly enjoyed the films but prefer the books :D

    Today was a wet, miserable day :( until about 4:00 p.m.Then it brightened up considerably.

    DSis decided she was painting the inside of the shed & got trapped when the heavens opened - I thought it was highly amusing but did not let on :rotfl: as it was not very sisterly of me.:rotfl: DH & I have chosen the shelving and flooring & he is going to make a collapsible table :T

    No projects today but not bothered about that - I have decided that provided I at least start a project every other day and I keep up the daily mantras I will count that as a win :rotfl: However should the mood take me & the mojo come roaring into view I will take advantage :rotfl:

    Got a call back from the lady in charge at the cs - someone new will be phoning me tomorrow to arrange an actual collection date :T we will see :rotfl:

    Re my three mantras - aired & made bed; washed up, dried up & put away as I went along; washed down kitchen work surfaces; tightened toilet flush handle; vacuumed downstairs including kitchen floor; dusted & turned all sofa cushions; general tidying;

    The day to day decluttering has generated

    C149 - C152 Three tins, plastic tub & lid - rinsed & recycled
    C153 - C157 Two toilet roll tubes, Newspaper, magazine read by DSis, uu notebook - Recycled
    C158 - C162 Non recyclable - plastic packaging, ruined paint brush, two lots of takeaway detritus, broken paint stirrer attachment - Binned

    May the MOJO be with all of us :rotfl:

    A lovely day - plenty of sunshine & a bit warmer today, but got chilly when the sun went down :( I also miss the long light evenings :( gets dark around 9 p.m. instead of 10:30 :(:(

    As a reward for all his hard work re the shed, DH went out today on his motorbike doing his Round Britain Rally (Sussex & Surrey) After filling the bird feeders & birds water bowls DSis retired to her room - to watch TV & nap :o
    I did get around to checking the last shelf in the larder because I did I some baking :D Made choc chip biccies, a fruit cake & a coconut and cherry loaf (picked because they all cook at the same temp :)) so used all 3 shelves in the oven :T and only on for 75 mins - very MSE :money:

    Good job I didn’t hold my breath - the CS lady did NOT phone :mad:

    Re my three mantras - aired & made bed; washed up, dried up & put away as I went along including the baking bowls, tins etc; washed down kitchen work surfaces; also checked & sorted spices/herbs/Condiments Cupboard (nothing to throw out - so must have done a good job last year :rotfl:) but a few refills required :eek:; general tidying;

    The day to day decluttering has generated

    C163 - C166 Two tins, plastic pot & lid, plastic milk carton - rinsed & recycled
    C167 - C169 Leaflets, uu notebook, cardboard packaging - Recycled
    C170 - C173 Non recyclable - three plastic bags, plastic tray & packaging - Binned
    C174 - C175 DSis binned pulled pork slice & mini quiche as ood by 2 weeks :eek:
