Evening all, just checking in. Migraine left almost as quickly as it arrived the other day thank goodness, there's not always any rhyme or reason to my migraines but glad they're much better than they used to be.

Yesterday was an unexpectedly good day at work training new staff, I really enjoyed it when I was prepared to loathe it - really hate that sort of thing normally. Today has also been a good day at work, I've been demotivated recently so I needed a bit of a push.

Had another trip to the vet with rabbit number 2, guess she was feeling left out and caught a sniffle from the other one... Put it on the cc and have filled out the insurance form. Will pay the excess from my emergency fund once I know what the insurance will pay. Either way the emergency fund will take a bit of a hit this month, but that's what it's for!

Working from home tomorrow so that saves on fuel cost for one day at least, and I get to avoid a dreaded meeting that takes place every Wednesday :rotfl: I'm trying kickboxing tomorrow, the taster session is free, I'm going to see if I like it as I want to try something new.

    Hey all...

Weird kind of day. A struggle to get going again, but the day went well. Bagged a free lunch and a sandwich to take home with me too!

Spent some money this evening (not on food) but still have money left over for the month.

    So a spend day today.

    Today I am grateful for:
    • The laughs we had at work
    • Free food appearing at a time when I really needed it
    • A friendly person at work being very kind and helpful
    Night all x

Small spend in the supermarket today - £6.50. Also went to B00ts and got one of my fave perfumes, a gift set for £25.33. Had £25 in vouchers for Christmas so only 33p spent :D. Spent £10 of my points on a s0ap and gl0ry gift set, one with 50% off. Really pleased with what I got :D

    Hi all turtles :j

4 hours in the CS today - yikes the donations have reached crazy proportions. Never seen so much stuff, they just can't cope with it all...huge mountain of binbags to sort behind me, huge wheeled bin full to the top next to me, same size bin up by the till with lots of bags piled in front of it, it's mad.

Janus So this is a time to look forwards - where do you want to be in 12 months from now? I would like to have the house much clearer. Slow progress but small steps.. 5 years? House completely clear & clutter free, DD settled in her own home. 10 years? Spending half the year in Ireland, half here

Activity. This is a BOGOF one. Take up a new hobby or resurrect a new one. Took books back to CS - that is one thing that they are short of - plus some old newspapers for wrapping china etc. Finished a sock, started on its mate..

ALSO, be active. Keep moving. Active all morning in the cs, in the garden in the afternoon for a while.

    Non-negotiables:
-18 NSDs (if not, why not?) still on 4/18 as a spendy day on a Tues

-your budgets are set by the start of the month and are fixed. Nearly - think I will say £250 for us & all animals, should not need near this amount so all saved will go to another project. Filling in book with receipts, found most of them. Kept receipts from shopping, will fill in book later.

-£5 to foodbank / charity Will do this week. Tried to purchase something from charity, held up by website, will investigate. No go atm, will choose another if no joy tomorrow. Still a WIP

-pay money to your debts FIRST - do not wait to see how much is left at the end - and live within your budget Do not have debt but have a cc paid off in full each month, which gives vouchers I use at Christmas. Has been a v spendy month, will cut down as much as possible. Will be prepping to start selling some of this stuff ASAP.

-meal plan Lunch was HM potato & leek soup again supper posh dogs & chips, all but the chips YS..

Unabashed, unambiguous, unconditional, undaunted, undivided, unerring, unshakeable devotion to your goal(s). [more on this later] Do not exercise as was - like many people - put off at school. And I was also rubbish! Put off swimming by being pushed into the deep end (by the swimming teacher!) which instead of having the desired effect of getting me swimming, actually nearly drowned me..

Always plan your meals; always take a shopping list; always take your lunch to work and drink + snacks when out and about; avoid all coffee shops, vending machines, work canteens... Making shopping list for tomorrow now, don't work outside the home but do a bit of voluntary work. Deviated a bit from shopping list, but not much, took fruit to work & get free brews..Don't drink coffee & never go in coffee shops..will try & take snacks, drink when out & about..

Reduce, re-use, repair, re-gift, recycle, recover, refuse! And read. Got more books from CS to add to the stash but will return once read. Only read when in bed so takes awhile to get through. Now have 2 books on the go..

You are the key to reducing your debt, living modestly, keeping as fit and well as you can. So look after yourself - physically, spiritually, mentally and emotionally. Determined to look after myself & pamper a little each week, have already had a face pack yesterday, need to do things for myself instead of being a in constant rush doing stuff for family In garden for about an hour before the light went completely. Making a difference in the greenhouse, which was dire. Aim to get some seeds in this week.

I want to re-introduce Bob's s t r e t c h challenge for January: how much extra can you earn / save off your food shop / move / remove. Completed survey but failed on eBay front, found one shoe of a pair planning to sell but so far no sign of its mate, ah well that led to a lot of sorting out & I did find stuff that I was missing, so a benefit of a type.
Would joining the 1% thread help you? Or the MFW for 2018? Or the pay off all your debts by xmas18? Does reading mrmoneymustache or frugalwoods inspire you? Have joined Frugalwoods challenge already & will be interested to see how it pans out. Have been on MMM & introduced his philosophy to DH, applied the principles so we are now MF - wish we had done it years ago, wasted so much time/money etc. in the past..

    Morning! Yesterday was NSD 6

Took kids to school, came home, picked up 2 lunchboxes the kids swore they had put in their backpacks (they had made it as far as the bottom stair when they put their shoes on and forgot to actually put them in their bag. doh!) took lunches back to 2 different schools (I am sure the receptionists think I am a bit doo-lally) went to the gym did half an hour flat out. 300cals, came home, cleaned ,cooked, picked up kids, fed em, bathed em, put em to bed. That was my day really,

Have to check in the pantry to see if today will be spendy. Hoping for inspiration as I am now Xmas potato free. Did well with those 29p spuds.

Half a tank of petrol left.

Gym is monthly membership, so free at the point of use.

    Will aim for:
    NSD 7
    Kids to school
    Gym for an hour
Home for a lovely hot bath
    Launder bedding
    Lunchbox planning
    Baking
    Kids from school
    all the other stuff.

    Watch this space!

    x_raphael - well done on your 10K,

Wet and foggy here today again. The gas people are outside doing lord alone knows what. Team after team of people arrive every day and achieve nothing.

Will be going grocery shopping tonight but other than that I have no plans to spend.

Sold another item on ebay last night but they haven't paid yet, listed another one yesterday too and that has a bid already.
