  • Good point harz:o
TBH , I'm not taking the cavalier approach as it may seem .
My spending has been reduced a lot since I've settled . My health and weight issues seem to be going in the right direction and that is mainly due to the amount of rest and relaxation that is essential.
In essence , it is a couple of months part time salary money that is being eaten away. If everything keeps going the way it has been over the last few months , then I have no more excuses for Easter employment .

So, went to gym after another restless night. James has finally got rid of the old cabinets outside my front door/communal area.
He has fixed the leak and water issues under the sink. He cannot put the remaining cupboards in until Monday . I have the dehumidifier under the sink until Monday . The kitchen and musicroom is still full of stuff. The sink can be used lightly until Monday when everything is fitted. This means I have ltd space in kitchen , and the musicroom cannot be used. The bedroom is still a mess. By Tuesday everything will be done . This includes James transforming the cupboard into a place for ladder/ ironing board and anything that fits . As I say, nice flat ..but ltd storage .
Saw a message from Ebay buyer. She had car issues apparently the other day. She is threatening to visit this evening . Whatever.

James did a great job with the water pressure. It means that I can now have a bath as well as a shower. When sharing with other flats, it could be one or the other. The flat around the corner was shower only.
Once he has done his business , I can crack on with my stuff and see if I can spend the next couple of week making my flat tidy with everything accessible .
  • :j Hi

I Hope you don't mind I have just read parts of your diary and didnt want to read and run ;)

Well done on the reduced spending :T and was pleased to hear that your health and weight is going in the right direction.

It was a brave thing you did to pack up and go so just wanted to say best of luck for the future.

    How are you finding Bournemouth?

  • Hello Sam :) Thanks a lot for your lovely post .

I'm trying not to jinx things , but I feel a lot better than what I have for some time . I have literally taken baby steps on finding my way around . There is still a long way to go in terms of meeting people, and finding a part time job. I have only been back to London for two days since leaving 16 months ago. Once for a hospital appointment , and once for a gig at the o2. I don't miss it .
Looking at the local news , we have Fred dinage. In London it's just guns and acid attacks :rotfl:

The hardest and most daunting part of my life now is to find a part time job . Hopefully start looking in Easter.
When I first came here , I was going into coffee shops everyday and stopped that a few months ago. Just did it initially to be seen around and getting to know the area. That spending has stopped .
I stopped buying bottled water, and miraculously cut out lucozade for the last six+ months . The little things going a long way etc.
I can't believe I've been stress and tension free for this long:)
  • So, James has taken the old kitchen units away at last on Friday .
In the meantime due to the weather, I sent a text to my personal trainer asking for session to be rescheduled for weds. He asked me to do that 2 weeks ago, so I assume there would be no problem with me doing the same. Still awaiting reply.

The kitchen is very hot with the dehumidifier plugged in under the kitchen sink and the door closed. I'm hoping mice don't find their way in before tomorrow . Yesterday around 7.30am I received a text from the scatty Ebay buyer asking if it would be ok for her to collect storage boxes around 930 am. I was hoping for a little bit of a lie in, but replied around 8.15 confirming it was ok to do so.
It gets to around 9.10 and I get text telling me her husnand will be with me in around half an hour. I just went to the shop around 915
He came around 10.15. Boxes gone at last . Not the greatest fleabayers in the world . Lots of snow snow showers as forecast .
    Staying in the warmth today

Glad to hear she's finally picked up the boxes. At least you won't have to relist them.
  • No gym & no James today. One of james children has tonsillitis , but he assured me he will be there tomorrow . I don't want him to leave it too long , as mice could move in if cupboard is not installed soon .
I do have one of those plug in devices which has been good over the years.

Feel groggy today, but managed to motivate myself as far as the shop. I moved a few things around, but can't reallytidy until kitchen is done .

One of my friends asked me if I wanted to see the stones at Southampton football ground . I swiftly declined. £100+ ..no thanks .
I thought they were great at Twickenham a few years ago, but after watching them at Glastonbury a year or two ago I found them to be very poor . I'm not too keen on outdoor gigs tbh. The only bands for outdoor gigs for me now would be Jean michel jarre or rammstein.
    Don't think that's gonna happen .

The snow has more or less gone, from the pavements . Still one or two mini flurries today but it should all,Peter out by the end of the day .
  • Hurrah for the boxes being collected :j

Poor you about the kitchen hope will soon be sorted for you.

Think today is a groggy day as I feel the same.

I think that is a lot for the gig too tbh but then I am currently [STRIKE]penny pinching[/STRIKE] :rotfl: trying to save.

Hope all goes well for you this week :D

I remember when a gig at the Lyceum Ballroom, with 4 or 5 bands playing, cost £2.50! And a pint was about 50p. Those were the days!
  • Hi Sam and gigervamp :)
It's funny/annoying the way going to gigs has changed over the years
Funny you mention the Lyceum gigervamp. The loudest gig I've ever been to was probably iron maiden playing there in 1979.
I remember their old singer Paul Dianno shouting up to the mixing desk at various times asking for an increase of volume .
We made to it to the second encore before we had enough .
Speaking of mr. Dianno..he turned out to be a benefits cheat and spent some time in jail a few years ago. Respect was lost. It's also debatable who is fatter, me or him. I think he is now :rotfl:

I've always put a gig before anything else. My favourite form of entertainment for many years. In the olden days you could que up at venue, or pay a deposit at a booking office to secure a gig. These days it's going on a computer at 9am on a Friday morning, not being told the full price of the rip off you are enduring. Still, not many bands I want to see now n terms of the dreaded procedure mentioned.
    Just waiting for James now..
  • ...and James has had to cancel today. Unfortunately his wife had somebody drive into the back of her car, causing a write off.
He assures me he will be here tomorrow .
