...and James has had to cancel today. Unfortunately his wife had somebody drive into the back of her car, causing a write off.
He assures me he will be here tomorrow .

A catalogue of disasters, I hope you haven't already paid him AC?

Thanks harz . He has been very good for me so far. I'm probably making things sound more dramatic than they are. I have remaining units in kitchen . I paid for the kitchen , but not labour / daily rate etc.
Tomorrow should be the day when the kitchen is more or less finished.
There have been days in the past when he didn't show. By being easy going and shall we say 'understanding ' when he wasn't there for one reason or another he has been a key factor in getting my flat in order.
I'm crossing fingers now, and hoping all is well for tomorrow .
He still has many tools in the kitchen , and a large cupboard awaiting to be fitted.
  • James came this morning . Did a lot. Kitchen should be finished tomorrow / Friday . I can use the facilities and put things away etc.

Went to my personal training session , and that was fine . Thought I would struggle as I wasn't at the gym since Friday . I can actually use the bath now James has improved the water pressure .
    Will be doing that later.

  • So , I've just had a truly awful time at my local nationwide branch .
There were only 2 people behind the tills. One of those was doing training . Unfortunately , I got him . He said his computer wasn't working properly . One or two of the bosses at the back made brief appearances but did nothing . All I wanted them to do, was to make a payment to the property mgt company for my 6 monthly service charges. The que was massive . There were a couple from the travelling community in the que , as well as a shifty bloke who 'lost ' his card and wasn't entirely trustworthy imho. You had to be there to understand . So, when the machine was eventually working , I was asked full name and a few security questions. Not ideal when the Dodgy guy could hear everything I was saying l:mad:
Ontop of all that , one of the managers came out of his domain and asked me to pull my jeans up as I was showing too much .
James thinks I should complain. If I did, it wouldn't benefit me and I'll just put it down to a bad day . When I pay James next week , it will be in the poole branch like I normally go to.

Speaking of James. He is finishing off . Everything done very shortly.
I just have to tidy up the flat after that .
  • James has just completed the kitchen . He will be back to fit a ladder in a door , or somewhere . Probably within the next two weeks.
It looks fantastic . He even managed to get a new fluorescent tube and get that working underneath one of the cupboards . It means that tbh, I don't really need to put the normal ceiling lights on .
He took pictures of it himself for his portfolio . I have to keep everything to a minimum now, and keep it free of clutter and make myself more domesticated. I knew James would be there for me .
He apologised for not being here sonetimes. I told him I'm very laid back, and that builders do have a reputation :rotfl: He agreed:)

That was the last thing that needed to be done to the flat .
Hopefully for many years. I have a lot of tidying up to do . That will be a p i t a . Just feel tired and lethargic . Having said that , when all is done it will be a great flat .

It does sound pretty bad AC :(

    Sorry, but :rotfl::eek::rotfl::eek::rotfl:

Time to order one or two sizes down I think :T.

Glad you are pleased with the kitchen. Take it slowly and find 'forever home' places for things then it will be easy to keep tidy.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

TBH, I can't see myself going down anymore waist size just yet. I think it's probably the wrong design I'm getting . They don't seem to explain the designs well at all in M&S . I'll have to contemplate things .
Yes ,the whole experience was pretty horrendous it has to be said .

Yes, finding thngs forever home is top priority.

I think the biggest problem with trousers for men and women is that it is almost impossible to get them "on the waist" - they are all around the hips and no matter what shape you are you can show too much. DH has a vintage 1950's style suit in grey. The trousers look fantastic as they are on the waist. DH is overweight and often shows "too much" but with these trousers he looks great!
