Hitched a ride with dd to Waitrose in the next town and came back with some bargains, most of which are in the freezer for January so I've started into that £200 already. Now have £179.44 for January, got to stay focused :think:Some people are so poor all they have is money
Jan 2018 GC £165.74/£200 = £34.26 left

Hiya folks and a warm welcome to the new peoples, returners and regulars :hello:
Thank you Zippy and Coxy for the new thread
I will be staying with my usual budget for January, so that's £200 to cover all food, laundry, toiletries and cleaning. My budget runs from 1st to 31st this month.
I will also add £100 into my bulk buy fund for the year, to which I add anything remaining from the budget each month as we go along.
Hope you're all enjoying the weekend

Delivery was £82, then I bought some Pepsi Max, toilet rolls and crisps from farmfoods, used a £2.50 off so that came to £23.
We had a takeaway for tea but that was paid for by other means.
So £115 left....0 -

Hello! Please could I join too? I’ve rather fallen off the money saving wagon this last year but I need to get back into the swing of it.
I usually spend around £400 per month for 3 adults, a cat and the outdoor tweety birds ( :rotfl: ) - plus the occasional meal for older relatives. So I would like to aim this month for £390 (baby steps!).
Thank you for this thread and all the work that goes into it!
(Nearly forgot to say, month will run from tomorrow (31st Dec) until 31st Jan)

Hi there, I would like to join this challenge with a budget of £400 for the month. It is for a family of 2 adults and 3 hulking teenagers as well as a greedy labrador and a grumpy cat. This will include all cleaning stuff, pet food and the occasional takeaway.
Both freezers are rammed with food so hopefully we will not need too much this month. As an added incentive, any money saved will be added to my puppy fund:T.

Yearly £3,250 for me please for 2018.
I spent £3434.09 this year; so I have reduced this by £250 this year, to see if I can get it down even more. This is roughly £62 a week or £270 a month. Would love it to be even less, but sometimes it's not doable.GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July £74.69/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. Please can you bout me down for £240 to run from today until 25th January. This is for all food, toiletries, cleaning and school lunches for 2 adults, 1 7 year old and a small dog.
This is a super low budget for us but we have 2 freezers rammed with food and I have at least 3 nights away with work in the next 2 weeks.
We are hoping to get back on SW in January so will need more fruit and GF cereal and DH will need beer for tonight's celebrations.
DH and I are signed up to do the Water Aid challenge from 4th Jan - no drinks other than water for 4 weeks! This should hopefully save us some money tooSave £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
