I'm up to £109.42 / £120 and I've accepted that we are highly unlikely to come in under budget this month but that's ok. It's more of a game to me than a necessity so I won't stress about it. I'm still thinking carefully about the next 10 day's meals.
Today and tomorrow ought to be NSDs, then Weds I expect to do a shop that should last us until the weekend, if not longer. I love checking in here and seeing how everybody is doing. Take heart those that are over budget. It's all a learning curve! And well done to those coming in under. I look up to you all0 -

51.81/90 or 390 for the month.
Spend so far is at A but have a list of what I need to buy from Aldi. I'm not going to make 90 this week I feel.cupboards were bare and I dropped a new can of deodorant this morning which proceeded to spray all over the house. The challenge is the month though and there's no turning back now xJan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Total for January, £96.40 out of a budget of £100. This was helped a great deal by having lots of Christmas goodies left over, to eat up (and drink up) over the month. I had meant to avoid too many bargain YS items, but I have some in the freezer for the coming month so that will help. I have a week off so we will see how that affects my budget for February!
Thank you everybody!Grocery challenge month runs from 25th to 24th
January £100. £96.20
February £100. £1.640 -
I treated myself to some veggie pepperoni and some veggie chorizo today from Holland & Barrett as they're useful to add to pizzas and pasta to add a bit of garlicky spice. £5.48 spent on 2 of each.
Still doing fine as I shouldn't actually need anything until the end of the week when I'll need more fruit.
£79.72/£1000 -
I have overspent on my grocery budget already £150.56/£150.00 and I still need to buy food to last until the end of the month. Being a first timer on the grocery challenge I hadn't really a clue what I had been spending on food..needless to say it was a lot more than I thought!
I'm slightly disheartened...I'm looking forward to the start of February so I can reset my budget. I may need to revise it if I can't come within it in February.
Oh Glenda, please don't be disheartened! You've said you didn't have a clue on your spending so, as a first-timer, use it as an opportunity to see where you can improve. Once you start to keep a check on your spending, you'll find it easier to see where the dosh is going. I can guarantee surprises!MadamMim2013 wrote: »Raaaaaarrrr:mad::mad::mad::mad:

I did my order on Saturday and also had problems with the codes for the freebies (maybe they had run out) but it did accept a MOC coupon so I think they've perhaps been having problems with their website.
Said order came today, a total of £56.45 spent. £14 of that was for household/toiletries that I'm not counting here as I have a separate budget for those. Groceries only came to £42.45, reduced to £32.45 after a £10 MOC.
So, declaring now for January and happily have £37.81 left in the budget to divert to our holiday fund. :j I'm really chuffed as I'd reduced the weekly budget down by £5pw so wasn't sure of what the end result would be.
Will be posting on February's thread after today but will keep checking in to see how everyone is doing.Be kind to others and to yourself too.0 -
Last reported in last Tuesday, since when.....
Wed : local freezer shop - 2 multi packs of crisps, pack of 2 individual frozen sponges, ready meal (which wasn't very nice!), a pack of frozen chicken nuggets (almost 7 days lunches for work), and then reduced to clear pre-cooked cocktail sausages and 2 packs of reduced to clear swedish meatballs. The reduced to clear items got split and put into the freezer to give me another 6 work days lunches for just 75p. Total bill £5.21
Sat : A1di - pack of 15 eggs, pack of 10 slices of ham, and a block of cheese (made omelettes for tea for myself, OH and his niece who loves them), plus a loaf of bread and a pack of rice noodles. Total bill £5.28
Sat : Local freezer centre - reduced to clear (large) bag of D0ritos. Total bill 19p
Today : A1di - bag of 4 baking potatoes, 1kg bag of baby potatoes, 2 cartons of my soya milk (opened the last I had in this morning), a pack of spinach (from the Super 6), a packet of part baked rolls (had half the pack for a late lunch between this mornings gym classes and the ones I'm back out for shortly - what a way to spend a week off work!), and a small tub of ice-cream as a treat for supper after gym classes (probably home about 9:30pm). Total bill £5.33
Total spend for month now stands at £94.52 out of £130Cheryl0 -

Not much left. Definitely not going to last me the month out. Been a total learning curve! Had I not been on this I would have spent more. No doubt about that. It’s years since I last did this and everything’s got so expensive !!
Baking potatoes are 4 for 50p in Asda at the mo, remember those being mentioned. That’s cheaper than Aldi at the momentOne day I might be more organised...........
