Given a choice between £81 and £119, I know which I'd choose. I'd be refusing to accept a new 18 month contract too..
  • The Trouble is they’ve got you over a barrel if you still want to keep it, within reason, but thanks for replying

Not if you follow the advice on this website. You have to cancel and MEAN it to get the best deals and you certainly don't have to accept a new (long) minimum term.

I also had this happen to me recently although they extended for 6 months. I was quite surprised as I was still in contract for another 10 months so they really didn’t need to do it.
  • Save yourself 2 grand and get freesat and NowTv. (No contract!)

    Hi people

Just wondered if I could pick anybody’s brain here about sky !
My contract ends on the 7th jan (5 days left!!) i currently got the full package with everything, tv, films, sports, HD, broadband and phone, my contract was 10 months with 50% off and 2 months normal, I’ve got through to the retention team and they’ve gave me 2 prices, 1 for my existing package to continue for 18 months at £81 per month (I think she said it was a 40% discount) or secondly upgrade to sky Q the 2 TB box with 1 mini box, the cost quoted to me was £118.99 per month for 18months. Is this a good deal or not ? I don’t want to cut my nose off to spite my face but on the other hand I don’t want to feel I’m being ripped off either.
    Any info greatly appreciated
    Cheers

Neither are good deals in my opinion, the 40% discount is probably on the Boxsets (?) package only btw. The phone/broadband are separate to the TV so don't let them confuse you by rolling it all up in to one.
