OH's dieting is going well, and it's not as costly as we'd imagined. This week's shop came in at £37, which is both under-budget and works for OH's healthy meal plans. Over the last week we've realised how large our portions are - the food we were eating wasn't unhealthy per se, there was just far too much of it. It also means our meals have been filled out with more veg, which is always more cost effective. OH has lost 6 pounds this week which is fantastic, however is quite wary that losing weight any quicker could be detrimental.
No other updates to report over at Camp Blibble; mortgage is about £100 away from next £1000 milestone but might have to wait until next month now.0 -
Well done Blibble and Mrs Blibble-to-be! I just knocked into the next £1000 down on my mortgage.
Tis a good feeling! Next month isn't so far away, keep going! :jMortgage balance October 2015: £99875 Mortgage balance June 2023: £69999.400 -

Sunday update time, and another OP has been made ... *drumroll* ... 59p! Ev'ry little 'elps guv'nor!
We've managed to scrape about £140 in total this month. With no survey payments coming in this month it's been slow going, but at the end of next month my payrise kicks in & there's payment from Prolific & Populus hitting my account. It's also my birthday, so might even be some money to be made there!
We're off the The Lakes this afternoon for a picnic; OH still doing well with her diet and has nearly lost a stone now. Not as much this week, however still more than enough to keep her motivated & a walk around should do us both some good. Taking a packed lunch too - dieting has a positive effect on our waistlines & pocket as OH can't stand the idea of not knowing how many calories are in our food now :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
That's 59p you won't ever have to pay any more interest on
I'm so envious that you can go to the Lakes for a day.... although I bet it was rather busy!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Absolutely heaving, themadvix! We went to Keswick this weekend which is one of our favourite haunts; went down by Derwent Water and barely a space in any of the 8 car parks in the town! They have a chap there who sells toasted almond & chestnuts glazed in sugar - they're divine but couldn't bring ourselves to sample them as it wasn't the weather for anything warm. Did have some lovely earl grey ice cream (OH) & salted caramel (me) however which was lushhhhh.
Sat in the garden this afternoon with far too much wine and a fluffcat - trying to enjoy it this year as we didn't use it as much as we should last year. This house is the first time we've had a garden, so trying to use it as much as possible while it's good outside. I think it must be ladybird hatching season as we've seen a good 15 / 20 larvae since we've been out. Car is also well and truly cleaned (my chore for the day - the windows also need doing but sod that), and the white wine (nearly) well and truly cleaned out. Plus a £112 OP this morning as OH's boss has paid her on the bank holiday. Yiippee0 -
We were in keswick the last bank holiday weekend, it was busy, but not that bad.
I can't believe the north West is getting such beautiful weather when there is rain elsewhere, we usually get it first.Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)

That sounds like such a fun day out, even if it was busy. Earl grey ice cream sounds divine :heart2:0

I think the Earl grey ice cream may have come from the same people who also make a raspberry and mint sorbet. It is Devine.Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)

Had a quick look on their website wishingthemortgageaway and couldn't see a raspberry and mint sorbert, although the earl grey ice-cream wasn't there either. The one we went to is next to W.H. Smith if that gives you an idea of which one it is.
Am certainly not moaning about the weather in the north west, no. I feel it's our time though; I remember when it was the London Marathon earlier in the spring and everyone was hailing it as the warmest on record, and it tipped it down all day up here :rotfl: I might have spent a tad too long in the garden yesterday, however; my legs & feet are lobster-eque (I burn easily at the best of times ... ). Frankly I wish work had a primary-school dress code, as I'd definitely be rocking a pair of shorts if I could get away with it!0
