Day off work today :j So in the interests of productivity, I've made a wee to-do list -
- Clean out BBQ & put away
- Clean & tidy house (within reason) (including the kitchen floor)
- EBay / Gumtree list from 3rd bedroom (bottom of my list for several months now)
- ASDA cashback card
- Take OH to work & pick up
- Wash the car (2nd bottom on the list for 3 weeks running now)
- Make lunch (mackerel pate sandwiches!) & cook tea for OH and me (to be decided)
- Clean very muddy suede shoes from Friday
- Cancel appt. for car, as have sorted the overheating issue
- Put on a load of washing
Best see how much we can clear off today

Loving the diary so far Blibble, you sound much more organised and disciplined than us, especially when it comes to the food shop, we are trying to work on that!
Based on your posts I think we might live in the same neck of the woods, I agree the farmshop services have delicious food.
Looking forward to tracking your progress, you are doing brilliantly so far!Emergency fund = £734.27 / £1000 :starmod:0 -

Possibly NorthernPeach! We're about 30 mile south of the marvellous motorway farm shop of dreams if that helps shine a light on it!
Good MSE day thus far! Shopping was £29 (£21 under budget ), wombled a couple of receipts which I need to see if are eligible for ASDA price guarantee, and picked up some reduced chinos on ASOS, down from £20 to £12 with another 10% off + 10% cashback on Quidco. May as well have been free! Will OP the savings tomorrow along with a TT.
Off to tea round best friend & his new partner's tonight. Still doing my best to not spend on alcohol (2 weeks now & only have drunk once!) but company should still be grand. Hope y'all are having a good Saturday! :beer:0 -

I love it when this happens
I haven't bought myself clothes in about 7 years, which I know is terrible. I don't really enjoy clothes shopping though, and ask for clothes for my birthday / Christmas or at least vouchers so I can do it. I'm in such dire need though that it wasn't fair to ask for everything for my birthday in June, so had to bite the bullet (the MSE way!)
£15.10 OP sent over today - £8.00 saving from new trousers and £7.10 TT (thanks to shangaijimmy's recommendation!).
We've also picked up some wedding invitations from Paperchase today - year and a half early, but they did have 15% off. For 70 invitations for the ceremony & 50 more for reception only was £127, so really can't quibble that I feel & it's all budgeted for :T0 -
Another day off work today - had planned to fill out the first quarter of my pay review for 2018 / 2019 but as I couldn't log on I decided to have a very lazy day instead. Warmed up some leftover curry for lunch (glad I didn't have to be out anywhere!), watched some snooker in the afternoon (OH says I'm nearing my 60s ... ), and generally did as little as possible.
Signed up to NewVista this evening for some extra £££; reading through themadvix's diary (slowly getting there!) and there seems to be some money to be made, so will add this to my morning portfolio of surveys over breakfast & a cup of tea.0 -
Quiet week on the MFW front. As the weather was lovely yesterday, me and OH went out round a food festival - unfortunately these have things a habit of a) being very expensive b) being very tasty, which compounds point a)! Did have a lovely smoked paprika hotdog, pint and a half of lovely ale, and more cheese tasters than you could shake a cocktail stick at.
OH is at one of our couple friends' wedding dress choosing today (if that's the right word). Both couples got engaged within a week of each other (we were the followers rather than the leaders ... ) & they're getting married 6 months before we are. Both brides are bridesmaids for each other's weddings, and next week is OH's wedding dress shopping day when couple friends will be coming.
Only a £8.88 TT made today, but all looking good and on budget for the month so hoping a larger OP can be made end of the month :j0 -
Just found £36.32 sitting in an old online casino account, so that'll get OP'ed when that comes through. Nowt better than finding more you'd forgotten all about :rotfl::rotfl:0

Blimey, a whole week without posting! Partly out of financial shame, and partly out of being quite busy! :rotfl:
It was OH's turn to go wedding shopping this weekend, so it's been a veeeeerrrrrryyyyyy pricy one, but it does come out of the wedding fund so there can be no complaints. £25 in petrol to get there and back (there being Durham, when we're on the north west coast ... ), however OH's folks treated us & her bridemaids to lunch, so very pleased all in all. And OH seems very taken with what she's chosen, so money's immaterial really (within reason, obvs!)
We then had OH's folks over for a Eurovision party last night, meaning both me and the bank balance we very worse for wear (love Eurovision!). After picking up some gluten free beers for OH's Dad, and some buffet nibbles & wine for all concerned, we've spent in excess of £35 which is scary, but as we were hosting & it's once a year it's all good.
OH is starting on a diet from tomorrow, so this week's shop was pricy anyway as needed to pick up some scales to chart her progress, as well as get some not-so-budget-friendly ingredients in for a low-calorie meal plan. We're still cooking from scratch, however to save her falling off the wagon due to low calorie culinary boredom we've splashed out on some fancy food to cook up. Happy to slacken that budget off if it keeps OH motivated though :T
Finally, found £36 in an old casino account from a while back. It's an old account for a poker website which I used to play on a fair amount before meeting OH, and played to a reasonable standard too and certainly was in profit (only at low stakes though), however I've not found the time to get back into it so off it goes to the OP fund. £38 or so payment made today, made up of casino account funds & a small TT.
