Boots Sale

I was at work yesterday and start at 8am, 10 miles away from the nearest Boots so wasn't able to go, but I called at my local one on the way home around 4.30 to see what (if anything) was left. There wasn't much, Zoella advent calendars (still giggling over keri gt's earlier comment about them:D), a brand with water bottles etc in aimed at the gym began with F (sorry forgotten the name) and some Hype sets. About half a dozen various food sets and that was it and rows and rows of various different make up bags! I picked up the last berry Sanctuary tin.
I overheard a shopper telling a SA that she had just come from the large town centre Boots and the shop we were at had less left, so will go and look when they open today.
I don't mind I was unable to go. I 'guesstimated' the correct day, so it was upto me to book it off. I didn't bother as it was mainly small items I wanted, for DD's friends so I bought them at 50% off. They are teenagers still at school who just love the brands and wouldn't have them (from DD anyway) unless they were bought very cheaply. One of DD's friends on opening up her present at Xmas announced to DD 'Wow I've never been rich enough to own a <insert item> before .
The F brand would be Fabletics.
Oh, that's lovely that one of DDs friends was so chuffed with her gift. Did you've stop youreself from saying 'yes and I'm not rich enoguh to buy them at full price'
Saw a few people with Sanctury tins yesterday but I hadnt even looked at them before the sale tbh. I tend not to go for those kind of sets as I don't really have anyone to buy them for and I never use everything inside, always get left with the body lotion and then have a sea of lotion bottles under the bed. A local store used to collect toiletries for a woman's refuge but I don't know if they do anymore.
For the past few years I've picked up a Dove set for DM as I thought she liked them...luckily this year there were none in store as she mentioned she now likes Simple :rotfl:Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

The person I overhead telling the SA at my small local Boots that the town centre had loads more stock left as she'd just left there was talking out of her @rris, unless they had a huge rush on for the last 45 mins of the store being open.
I called there this morning and they barely had anything. Many of the berry Sanctuary tins (same I got last of last night at small shop) and Zoella candles and advent calendars and much of the Fabletics
Was on my way back to my car, when I remembered a very small Boots also in the town centre. Went they had 4 different items only. 2 nail polish sets and 2 Zoella products (no not the advent calendars) I bought the Zoella journal. It cost under £5 and by Xmas DD will be less than 6 months away from taking her GCSEs  so think it might be handy for any notes she needs to make. For anyone who has read the Harry Potter books am sure this will go down as well as when Hermione gets Ron and Harry homework planners for Christmas the year before they sit their OWLS.
Decided to call on the way back home at my local Boots and pick up one of the make up bags I'd left last night and am so glad I did. :jThough they had less stuff (they stay open until 8pm, unlike town centre which closes at 5.30) they had put some new stock out. So I was able to pick up a Soap and Glory make up set and a Jack Wills toiletry bag. I also decided to get one of the fabletics bags, again it worked out less than a fiver and the bag will be used when DD goes on residential trips.0 -

My kids ,,,, well 2 sons one step son and all their girlfriends and my niece always say I buy the best presents ,,, well I really think what they are 'into ' and am lucky enough to get to the boots sale for many years now ,, I give them all around £25 of sack / stocking goodies , but in reality it costs £100 plus full price , so they are chuffed! The boys then get one main present as well.
I don't really buy for anyone else , so I have much pleasure in treating them , and I'm lucky to have such good kids in my life and thank goodness for boots sale or I wouldn't be able to do it !!!:money: I will never be rich but I'm happy :rotfl:0 -
Gee, I thought MSE was less tolerant of trolls than HUKD, but anyway..
Yesterday I turned up early doors to St Enoch, Glasgow (around 9.30am) and it was quite civilised, though I would say, be careful about some gift sets with the items obscured, there were quite a few with "bits missing".
Managed to get the Soap & Glory Spa Of Wonder and Winter Wonder Glam sets (one of each).
Trudged up to Buchanan Galleries later on, in the snow (it was actually pretty desolate around 6.30pm) and this store had a lot more gift sets than St Enoch for some reason - unless staff had been putting more out during the day.
I had my sister ordering me around via my Bluetooth headphones (told the sales assistant watching me in the background that I wasn't talking to myself)!
Happy with what I got and as my sister has mobility issues, the sale brightens up her day as well :T

The HUKD thread mentions police being called to one store, which makes me feel awful for the poor Boots staff, who haven't signed up for such drama.
Sis told me when she was at East Kilbride in the early hours yesterday, one woman brazenly emptied an entire shelf and quite a few customers were raising their voices..
Some stores seem to be implementing a "6 items" limit, though.
Other HUKDers suggest that some Boots stores are staggering the stock they put out on shelves to give all customers a fair bite at the cherry, which is a great idea too :A0 -
I bought two jack wills backpacks yesterday. In the store I checked briefly everything was there. I have just checked properly and the soap is missing in one of them. I know it's only a soap but I am annoyed. They will be sold out by now
Update: I rang the dragonville store on the off chance they had any left. They had one left...which they have put to one side for me to exchange. The lovely SA I spoke to went off to see if I could exchange and said although they aren't supposed to keep stuff for people in the 70% sale she would this time as the soap was missing. So my lovely OH has gone off to the store for me.saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

do you think stores will have more stock tomorrow
The Sanctuary glass jar's are back in store re-vamped for their usual year round gift range but not with the thrill of 70% off though.
Highly unlikely you'll see anymore in the clearance; but keep checking as always the odd return you an stumble upon.0 -
At the risk of going slightly off-topic, it seems the "antagonist" on this thread hates Boots Pharmaceuticals-branded gift sets? Not sure if Sanctuary are part of that "hit-list" but I used some Sanctuary toiletries when I stayed at mum's last summer, thinking they'd be so-so - they were GORGEOUS.
Beautifully scented and luscious. I'd definitely pick up more - alas, my stores didn't have much in the way of Sanctuary items.
By the way - TK/TJ Maxx has their "own brands" tucked away in amongst the widely-known ones, as does Debenhams, and many others...
As always, it's about being savvy about what you buy - and if you like it, buy it.0 -

I got the large 'Little Something' set at £9.00 too; was in too minds with it as thought £30 was expensive originally but thought it would be lovely to breakdown into organza bags and make 4 smaller gifts with.
Didn't see any limit in my local; the Lynx shelf was wiped clean in about 30 seconds by a couple of people.0 -
