Welcome to the thread HORWICH, I’m sure you’ll get lots of ideas. KERRI that’s good advice about the quiet space for HORWICH’s DGS. My grandson who is 4 is autistic and DD starts preparing him in November by gently introducing the idea of decorations, reading stories about Christmas etc., which has worked well so far. Of course everyone on the spectrum is totally individual and copes differently with unfamiliar situations but the quiet space sounds like a really practical idea.

KERRI that’s exactly what I need to tell myself this year as I’m hosting. It’s not a failure to get everyone to pitch in and it’s not a movie. I’ve written your advice down in my Christmas book and I’m going to use it as a mantra all through my Christmas prep so thank you.

NIC good idea about the notebook. I’m always seeing things that I mean to remember and never do so maybe I should adopt that idea too.

Still in DH birthday planning mode here so Christmas prep will have to wait a few more weeks then it’s full steam ahead. I’m not liking this weather though, I don’t want to say goodbye to summer yet, I’m still craving sunshine and despite being a November baby autumn definitely isn’t my favourite season, I don’t like damp and drizzly.

Picked up a nice Sanctuary Spa gift set yesterday in Beauty Outlet for £12.99. it has got six products in and a body puff. Think like it more for how it is displayed but looks more expensive than it was

    Thank you everyone.
There are 7 bedrooms and 3 sitting rooms so there is certainly room for somewhere quiet! It’s close to the beach and we are getting Caleb a new bike so I am hoping lots of walks and that will get us out!
I got my NHS backpay a whole £50! But it’s not to be sniffed at, so I am going to draw that out and put it in my Christmas pot as it will buy the meat! I am currently writing out a list so we can divide up the food contribution. Veg, puddings, pop etc. I will then assign each thing to everyone!
I am off out today to buy school uniform (we have custody of Caleb our grandson) and we will go and price up bikes for him.
    Have a great day xxx

    Hi all,
Despite Boot$ saying my order would be ready to collect on Friday, I had an email from them today to say it was in store. Was popping to the town anyway so collected it. Really pleased that one person is now ticked off my list :)

    Well hello everybody,

Summer holidays have just flown by! Its been that long since I have been on here that I had forgotten my password to sign in lol.

I hope everybody is doing well and have had a lovely summer.
Cannot believe we are back into school next week, Going to pop into the school I work at today and have a catch up with the new teacher I am working with.
Went to Cheshire oaks last week and loved it. Went to the Cadburys Outlet store and bought 2 of the Advent Calendars that have the treat size chocolate bars in. They were £4.99 each and have all the Cadbury Heroes style chocolate sweets in. Got one each for the kids, when they saw them they were so excited. Although DD reminded me that the elf usually brings the advent calendars. completely forgot in my excitement but luckily I also bought her a doh vinci advent calendar so will pick my DS up a non chocolate advent calendar up when I see one. If anybody sees a male advent calendar appropriate for a 16yr old please give me a shout.

Ok, Not had chance to keep up with the thread but will go back and read through with a nice coffee later this afternoon. My aunt, who is as Christmas crazy as I am , text me asking for gifts for my kids so have message her back. Need to make a note of that in my Christmas book. Managed to sort out a few more gifts and have got them in a huge cardboard box ready to be stored on top of my wardrobe. Spending Saturday decluttering the loft and listing all my Christmas items in my notebook. Got a gorgeous new Radley bag at Cheshire Oaks too, absolutely love it. Should of been £100 but was £39.60.

Welcome to all the newbies, if you love everything Christmas you are definitely in the right place.

Princesskitty29- I cannot believe how fast its gone, wiggle going to school. Ah bless

Hope all the regulars are doing well. Will catch up on all the comments later. Missed you guys xx
  • Hi - I hope it's OK to join this chat, I came across this thread whilst trying to get inspired for Christmas.
I have no idea where to start! I normally start my shopping in September time round about when $myth$ have their big sale and when @rgos start their 3 for 2's but wanted to try and get started a little earlier this year.
I have 2 boys aged 5 and 2 and want to start with them - also have several nieces and nephews, brothers, sisters in law and both sets of mums and dads. I've still got a few birthdays up until Christmas too!
Started having a look on some of the toy websites to try and get some inspiration but struggling.
Any ideas of how to get started this year would be welcome as I'm finding it harder and harder each year as more ppl keep having kids and making my list even longer!!

    Thanks,
    Jewels
