don't know if its just me but the shops don't seem Christmassy enough this year. only one shop I have been in which was independent had Christmas music on. I was disappointed with the ranges offering this year. I went to two local garden centres yesterday and their Christmas displays were awful. one had it advertised as a grotto but it was a little corner tucked next to the clearance section with only two shelves of stock. I asked if any more was coming and they said no that's it.
Christmas24 is making me feel very festive though, my decs are going up next week, cant wait:j:j:j:j£2 savers club 2025 #2= £480 -
My work have done this for a few years now for a local charity and I always try and get some teenage presents in my donation as I feel they are sometimes overlooked as more 'difficult' to buy for. I tend to get some of the smellies gift boxes from the supermarket when they are on offer (lynx, impulse etc) as they can be a gift and also useful if money is tight. I also usually include some selection boxes as they are generally welcome for any age!
Selection boxes are a great idea! I think the smellies are a good idea, I was thinking about Make Up but I'm not sure if they would accept it or not0 -
Good Morning all,
Have finally ordered DD gift so that will arrive on Monday. Got a great deal and got 2 games too. Just have one more game to get her and she is officially done. We decided to buy DS a new mobile so he will be surprised and ecstatic when he opens that on Christmas Day. Just got vouchers to buy now and all the gifts are done. Christmas food shop is the next big expense.
Christmas tree is going up tonight and we will decorate it tomorrow. Cannot wait. Will start the wrapping this weekend too.
My foot saga continues. Have to have an operation, possibly 2. Have had my pre op for the first one and it will be about 6 weeks although I am on the cancellation list so it could be any time. That has made me get my Christmas head on and think about getting Christmas wrapped, done and sorted so I am not stressing about Christmas if I get a call earlier.0 -
0462 really sorry to hear you’ve got to have surgery on your foot, you must be getting really fed up with it. Good idea to Christmas nailed down just in case:D
CHARLOTTE if you’ve got a Home Bargains near you they’ve got some lovely gift sets or how about mini pamper hampers (hand and foot masks (89p), one of those crunchy things you use in the shower (39p), bath bombs (59p) and little bits like that? In a festive bag in tissue paper I’m sure they’d like them. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -

What a fab idea. I think I will! I find that teens are often left out, at least this way they'll have something they can use and something useful!!0 -
Picked up my free box of Christmas cards today with my O2 app. I have put them by for next year.£2 savers club 2025 #2= £480

Hopefully the watch saga is over...getting a refund for the wrong one. They did ask if I wanted a replacement as well but declined. Have ordered another watch today and also ordered a longer strap for it. Never realised how difficult it was to find watch strap lengths ... A lot of websites don't seem to list it but for me that's one of the first bits of info I look for. Let's hope the engraving on this one is right when it comes.
Other than that not done any Black Friday shopping. It is double discount at work next week so hoping to get a few little bits then and then it is just the three coffee shop gift cards to get .
Definitely havent been as organised this year and am definitely over budget (oops) next year I will be better i promise£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120 -
I'm gradually getting through my list of people to buy for, I've had to set up a tick list on my phone to get remaining people ticked off when I find them something. One thing I desperately need to do, and normally will have done by now, is buy family Christmas cards. I'll write family and friends Christmas cards sometime in the next week, preferably with Christmas music playing. I'm also trying ( but mainly failing) to get one room in the house each week deep cleaned and organised for Christmas. On Monday, I'm planning to treat myself to one of the Starbucks festive drinks, as I have a money off voucher.0

Hello everyone
Hope you are all well
Sorry I have been so quiet. I had a weekend trip away then started my new job and I have been exhausted since! New job is a bit meh too so not really been too sociable. My new job is on one of the biggest shopping street's too which has been soooo tough. But I have resisted
But good news....
Finished my Christmas shopping! :j:j:j
I brought my final present today. I have been monitoring prices and Black Friday did seem to be good for what I wanted. Sadly my husband's trainers he has been wanting has gone up in price :rotfl:
I have started some wrapping which is my favourite bit. Been watching The princess switch on Netflix. And the tree is coming out next Sunday as we are in France for a Christmas market on the Saturday. I am so excited!0 -
storkie what a pain with the watch fingers crossed this one is right - I'm having a bit of an issue with online orders to lately either not turning up, being cancelled/wrong thing sent or damaged  oh the joys of online shopping
04624181 what bad timing with the surgery possibly right on top of xmas hopefully you'll get a date soon
the tree still isn't decorated as ended up with dgd all weekend to give her mum a break as she's being a little madam at the moment
pretty disappointed with the black friday deals this year though I did order a few bits for stocking filler and some trainers for ds which were 1/2 price.
need to sort out the bits ready for our elves to arrive on Saturdaythis year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0
