  • pavlovs_dog after looking at the balsam hill site I am so tempted at a new tree but it would be for next year as there is still far too much going on here to put a big tree up this year. I have seen one I like but do you know if they do a January sale or offers through the year?

I’ve watched the JL advert now and I like it. I think my favourite is still the one with the snowman travelling to get the scarf and gloves though, although I loved the boxer puppy one too.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :
  • Thanks Peppa and murie, I am trying not to worry too much. Although my brother rang to say he’d taken my mum to A&E this morning but with what he told me I think she’s just got herself worked up and stressed about it all. It’s funny because my mum generally has such a good outlook on life and is very positive, however when it comes to health matters she can let her mind run away with her a bit. I guess it’s just the waiting and not knowing either way.

Peppa poinsettias on the tree sound lovely, I have some very small poinsettia decorations and I think they set the tree off lovely. Your ideas sound fab. My favourite JL advert is still the snowman one, I’d love it if they brought that back for a year!

Yes they seem to have offers at several points throughout the year.

If you search for them on Instagram you'll be able to see lots of decorated trees (they message posters and ask them to name which BH tree it is). Also lots of photos on the reviews section of the site. These were a big help to me choosing which tree to go for.

One thing to bear in mind is that the trees are HEAVY - my 7fter weighs 18kgs. Not looking forward to trying to get it in the attic!!!

Met a friend for a cuppa today and bought some bulbs for the pot I want to plant up for my DM. She really doesn't 'need' anything and is on a constant declutter so I try to either think of things that will actually be useful for her (think I'm going to get her a new PAYG phone as she doesn't like, thus doesn't use, her current one) or revamp something she already has.
Currently the pot is sat outside with nothing but a plant dish in it to stop cats digging the soil. So I need to swipe it and plant it up, had prob say I've 'borrowed' it for something before she thinks someone has stolen it though.

Still struggling to find OH trainers, found one pair on Amazon but it's £18 shipping from Italy

Oh thanks pavlovs_dog, off to Instagram I go for the foreseeable as I can lose myself there like I do on Pinterest. I think I know the one I want but no doubt will change my mind. Thanks for the weight advice too, not something I would necessarily think of

Edit to say the one I was looking at was 55lb. Going off this idea!

Princesskitty hope your mum is ok and the A&e visit was nothing to worry about. The waiting is the worst as you can't help think what if but you do need to try and think positive and whatever is going on it has been picked up.

    ChrissyG sorry for your loss

GYD :rotfl: at your friends gs kids can be so funny
wow 55lb that is some tree

not fussed on the JL ad its ok but really looks far more like a movie trailer or tour promo than a xmas ad which is disappointing.

Had some bonus point vouchers for sains so picked up an outfit for dgd and got enough points back to get ds another game on double up so very happy with that.

Anyone got one of those outdoor xmas light projectors? Aldi had a snowflake one but not sure if they are any good?
this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk

We have a projector it’s all we put out now , they are effective it being on a bungalow lessens the effect a bit as it needs a straight surface and a lot of ours covers the roof.

that is the pay off for a high quality tree that should last for many years. The difference in quality compared to the bog standard high street tree we had been using is stark.
