Or if not Freegle then you can list stuff for free on local Facebook selling groups. If the TV works and you have a remote then you might find someone willing to come and collect it from you. I said a few days ago how I'm being careful with spending at the moment due to having to pay off our expensive holiday next month. (I'll be paying my half on my credit card, but as I buy everything with my credit card I'm trying to limit everyday spending for now to ensure I don't max it out.)
I work full time but I work near some shops, so usually I'll walk up there on my lunch break. So with the above in mind, I've decided to just use the money I have in my purse for now, and just start to pick up a few little bits for Christmas.
And I was successful today! I managed to pick up two presents for a friend's daughter (who was actually born on Christmas Day!). I don't spend lots on her, but I was so pleased to find a lovely colouring pack (with stickers too) in Wilk0 for just £3 - it was a brand of some kind, and didn't say "wilk0" on it, so hopefully looks more expensive
I also got her an "on the farm" domino set in H0mesense for £2.99. Both presents look fantastic for the money. I've been really pleased with H0mesense for presents lately.
I did spot a gorgeous "night time bear" in Mr T if anyone is in need of a teddy. He was just £3 down from £12 originally. He was lovely and soft and wearing stripy PJs. Sadly I didn't have room to buy him as a pressie, as I might end up moving before Christmas, so I'm trying to minimalise everything at the moment in case I sell up. Do keep an eye out for him! He's a big-ish teddy, probably 40cm long? Very sweet.0 -
Im loving the fact that the nights are drawing in now, especially as its still warm enough to sit outside at night and enjoy my lights.
On the festive front I have booked a Belgian chocolate afternoon tea through Groupon (using a 20% off code and valid til 19th dec)) as part of DH's advent calendar. We went last year and had the standard tea rather than the chocolate one which I think is just the choice of a few choccies from the shop (its set in an old fashioned sweet shop). It was lovely. (I only paid £12.20 with the code!).lovin' this site!

Ohh that sounds lovely Murie. Sure you will both enjoy.
Nephew's gift arrived today and my Matalan order is ready to collect so things still ticking along on the Christmas gift front.
I need to get a move on with my Christmas card making though. Sure I will catch up with them once other half is back to work at start of September.
Not overly Christmassy but have booked us tickets for the local theatre production of wind in the willows in November so looking forward to that.
Oh and edit to add I am waiting for an email to say my mattress has been dispatched. Hope it is worth the money£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120 -

I love Wind in the Willows - had the VHS as a child and watched it over and over.
What mattress did you choose?
DN mermaid blanket from Aldi arrived today - it's got rainbow type foil dots for the scales and I think it's fab. It does have Aldi on the back of the packaging which I know some people might be a bit sniffy about - could always remove it and re-wrap but I'm sure a 7yr and my family won't give tuppence or likely even notice in the melee that is Christmas with kids.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Hello all - please may I join in?
I have spotted a couple of bargains this week - you may already have seen them but just in case:
Tubs of Q.Street in !celand for £4 - I know that T's are also doing these and other varieties for £5.
Jura Whisky/Craft Beer/Glass set from @sda - my branch has them marked down to £10 so that's BFF's DH sorted https://groceries.asda.com/product/view-all-craft-beer/jura-whisky-craft-beer/1000030813325
Need to be a bit careful this year - currently out of work but hope to get some temp work sorted soon(!). I agree with others about giftcards - usually get these for teenage neice/nephews but will wait until nearer the time to part with my cash.

OMG how is there a christmas chatter thread and I've never seen it before?!! Helloooooooo!!!
Yes I've started shopping as well! Manged to get some Yankee candles on Amazon for £10 (large jars!!), think they might still be the same price. Bought 5 to put away for 2 birthdays and 3 christmas presents.
Picked up a joke book for my niece for a few pounds and some make your own candy necklaces from Home bargains (89p each!).
I should really keep a list of what I've bought so far, so I know where I'm up to :-)0 -

A warm Welcome to the thread Coxy and Thrice. I cashed in some cashback for a restaurant voucher from zeek to go with my parents main present. Only had to pay £9.50 towards the £20.00 voucher. I am doing them a hamper to go with it and I am buying a few food items with my food shop each week. Still got to get my brother, pets, stocking gifts and a gift for my grandad but am struggling as to what to get him. He doesn't need anything else for his garden and he hasn't got a hobby.
I got a few hallmark Christmas cards in the sale online so now only need to get two special cards and then I am finished. Will need to get some boxed cards this year though as I haven't got many left from last year. Stamps have been bought for the cards that need posting.
I am on the hunt for some traditional Christmas themed placemats and tea towels. I am going to make some Christmas cloth napkins and beaded napkin rings. Just got to find some fabric I actually like which will be hard as I am so indecisive.£2 savers club 2025 #2= £600
