Grovelling... They know they are in the wrong... Now it's only $29 for a battery change, but only for the 6 or newer...

So I guess that'll be £29 in the UK...

No £20, on the BBC news.

£21 but close enough, and you'll also have some nifty little software app so you can see your battery failing. Whoopee :rotfl:

Therefore, does that mean that Apple were overcharging (no pun intended) by £58/£59 for a battery renewal?
Yet, in spite of that revelation, people are still being enticed in to buy their overpriced products.

Not necessarily, they could be taking a hit on the reduced price as a PR exercise. I'm guessing it's not an easy job opening up an iPhone and replacing the battery.

I might add that I'm Android through and through and always have been.
  • If you have a sealed battery it’s only fair that the company should renew batteries at cost price rather than for profit. Apple are now at last doing the right thing.

Then it's rubbish design. Why would they want to make it hard to replace a battery I wonder?

And which of them do that don't actually have a replaceable battery?

If I was paying £1000 for a phone, I'd want free replacement batteries, along with free coffee and newspapers while I waited. At least make me feel special while they strip your wallet bare!!
