  • I'm new to Mystery Shopping (and to posting on a forum), I wonder if anyone can help me with a few queries?

A week ago I applied to Grass Roots and was accepted, I have now got my first two assignments with a financial institution. I called GR to check a few things as these are my first jobs. I asked about travelling expenses and was told they don't pay any expenses, just the pay for the job. The two assignments I have will incur no travelling costs because of the locations but if I had to travel say 10 miles and pay for parking I could soon be out of pocket.

    Is this normal?

Secondly, does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations as to which other MS companies I should apply to? I suppose being with three or four companies should ensure at least a reasonable amount of work.

    Thanks for reading this.

apply to as many as you can. its sad when pay goes down people shouldnt work for so little then they wouldnt get away with it if they ask you at short notice you can always ask for a little more.

  • Thanks for that reply (shame it had to come from a red, MCFC OK!), I'll apply to Retail Eyes and Gap as people seem to rate them.

    Hi,

You need the Mystery Shopping thread - it has all the info you need to get started and anyone on that thread will be able to help with any queries you have.

    Happy shopping!
  • Hi I have an article about Mystery Shopping on my community website www.roundaboutharlow.co.uk.

I have also listed names and contact details of companies that employ Mystery Shoppers. The article is worth reading before you apply to any companies so that you know exactly what is involved - It also gives you a little bit of training . http://www.roundaboutharlow.co.uk/articles/19/1/You-really-can-get-paid-to-shop-and-eat-out-as-a-Mystery-Shopper/Page1.html

I would appreciate any feedback you may have about how helpful the information is on the website. Good Luck! Chris

I don't know if this is allowed but if not then please delete!

I am just filling in the forms to join retail eyes and there's a bit about who refered you where the referer gets some kind of fee
Seeing it was this website and Martin who refered me (wonder if he has a retail eyes account?!) I thought I'd give someone the chance to be my referer, it seems silly to waste the opportunity and I feel someone on here should get the fee as you've all been so helpful with the info.

PM me so I can add the details.

Hope this isn't against any rules, i'm not advertising (or at least I don't think it counts as advertising?) and, as this site is all about ways to saev/make money it seems right to post this, however, as I said, if this isn't allowed please accept my apologies and delete!
