    Hi Lynne,

Great post! I would really like to work in this field myself. If you have any further advice on getting into this career, please contact me.

    Thanks,

    Wayne

    Hi Wayne
The way in to a job like mine is to start by working in the quantitative field. This means those people who stop you in town and ask you to go to a room and look at an advert etc, or to go round door knocking. You usually havfe a quota of people to find (e.g. 30 people aged between 25 and 50 with at least 2 children, social grade C1/C2/D
Once you have had a few years' experience you could look towards trying to become a group recruiter.
    Best wishes
    Lynne

If you PM me I can pass on your details to a colleague in Edinburgh.

  • We're based in Manchester and our website is www.researchopinions.co.uk
We used to only recruit in Manchester and the surrounding areas but have recently branched out to Leeds and Birmingham. If anyone in these areas is interested then get registered and we'll be in touch!

Nb. If you are already registered with another recruitment agency please do not register with us as clients DO NOT like seeing the same people twice!

Does anyone know of any companies who research amongst Brit ex-pats?

A number of such are suffering the effects of a weak pound/strong euro, and need a bit of extra income.

  • New here, and will try not to ramble.

I can't attend any focus groups due to agoraphobia and anxiety disorders. So I've been reading through the forum with some interest regarding the online market research. As an agoraphobic, I dream of finding some way yo make money working at home, and had convinced myself that EVERYTHING was a scam until I thought about looking at Martin's site.

I am not looking to get rich, just to earn a little extra. I also have plenty of time to sit on the computer and fill in research forms.

I'm considering joining three or four of the legitimate market research sites mentioned here, because as I said, I do have time to concentrate on the research. But I want to be paid in cash, not with vouchers or free gifts.

If anyone would be kind enough to recommend the online companies that pay with cash, and preferably to my PayPal account (Cheques are actually all right too) I'd be really grateful.

(I understand that with some you have to build up from £10 to £50 before you can get your money! ...unless I have that wrong?)
  • Hi. I work for www.focusgroup4u.co.uk and we recruit for focus groups mainly in the london area, but we do get asked to recruit around the UK on occasion. We don't list our projects because people tend to adjust their profile to suit. How ever if you register with us and your profile matches what we are looking for ,we will email out an invitation questionnaire.

Have you seen the separate official thread that covers online research? If not you'll find it at http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=576161

If you're looking at cash only, Pinecone, ACOP, OpinionWorld (sometimes - usually it's just draw entries) pay in cash every time you complete a survey, but allow 4 to 6 weeks. Ciao pay direct to your bank account once you've amassed £10 or more (just put in a request when you want to claim), OpinionBar pays out at £16, GlobalTestMarket pay by cheque on request once you reach $50 although you get paid in sterling at the current exchange rate, ItsYourView and YouGov pay automatically at £50.

There are probably more so take a look at the UK and international sections of one of the free survey directories. You'll find a few recommended on the official thread (I use whichsurveys.com ) so just take a look and see which one suits you best.

  • Hi guys - my comapny has just set up a website to recruit people for focus groups. We've been running them for 13 years and realised that most people didn't have a clue how to take part. We generally pay between £35 and £50 for 90mins, though it can be more for depth interviews.

    To register the website's www.hcrecruit.co.uk

I hope it's OK to put that here - if not let me know and I'll get people to PM me.
