    DISCUSSIONS THAT WILL BE MOVED/REMOVED

Please do not discuss subjects where you know doing so breaks the t&cs of another company/site. Also, certain topics have caused problems for the site in the past and will either be removed completely or limited to one specific discussion thread. We have no desire to stop you discussing and building the community, but we want to keep this a friendly site. Potentially volatile subjects have no real place on a MoneySaving forum and often only serve to offend. Please help us to help you.

Topics include Mercury Telecom, Pinecone Research, Sainsbury’s Discount codes, La Redoute (Vertbaudet), Perkz codes

Where there’s contention or the thread is not MoneySaving it will be deleted with no discussion as purely a resource issue.

Regarding non MoneySaving discussions legitimately complained about, such as sensitive racial issues, the thread will be scanned and if considered a threat to this site removed. We are not required to justify this; it is done to protect MSE.

Browntoa, I have deleted the link to the Pinecone sign up so there are no problems for the site.

However, as I understand from Pinecone, there is no problem mentioning Pinecone Research, the problem is if you go on to discuss the products you have done surveys on or have tested.

A quote from Pinecone Research sent to their panelists.

"I'd like to remind all of our panellists of the importance of the beginning security agreement that is included in every survey. PineCone concept and product evaluations are to be kept confidential. When you type "I AGREE" to the security and confidentiality agreement in the questionnaire, you are agreeing that you and the other members of your household will keep the subject matter of your PineCone experiences confidential. We promise to protect your privacy as well as the privacy of our client's information, the products and ideas that they give us to test with you. Discussion of the topics of questionnaires in chat rooms and postings on bulletin boards is a violation of your confidentiality agreement".

I would like other people to have the opportunity to join Pinecone Research, and if I am allowed to post on here where the Pinecone Banner/sign up can be found, I am helping others to "up their income".

Pinecone is mentioned by MSE Martin in the Boost Your Income

The desperate need for many companies and public organisations to test, talk about and try out their products or plans on the British public gives you a great opportunity to cash in.

    • You can get paid cash to take part in online surveys, which are often short enough to fill in during breaks at work. Try ValuedOpinions, Pure Profile, Pinecone Research and Lightspeed Panel.
How much? Some surveys can pay £1 to £3 for just a couple of minutes of your time.

Surely there shouldn't be a problem in saying where the Pinecone Research banner is, if MSE Martin is mentioning it and putting a link to Pinecone's website in his article.

Yes, I have to say my first response to Martin mentioning "the you know which cone" survey company was "How pointless! You can't sign up to it anyway without being in the right place at the right time!" There's a reason it's known as the holy grail of survey sites. In fact, with the exception of Lightspeed, the 4 mentioned in the articles are not the ones I've made most money out of over the last year.
Yeah, whatever. I'm a grown up, I can take it...

I have signed up for a few survey sites, and so far I haven't had any surveys to fill in..and loads of unwanted telesale phonecalls., How do I stop the unwanted calls??
  • Ali1972, which survey companies have worked out best for you? I'd be interested to see whether it tallies with my experiences or whether it's determined more by demographics.

Dang! Wrote an indepth reply only to find the system had logged me off somehow... Here it is in a nutshell:

I've found Yougov, Lightspeed, TNS, Ipsos (my favourites), Test and Vote, GFK, Globaltestmarket and Ciao the best. Have to admit my earnings from Ciao have been augmented by a brief foray into writing reviews for them (which I've now lost interest in). Valued Opinions have come through from time to time but I've only earned about £10 from them and Synovate once came through with £30 for agreeing to a follow up telephone interview after an online survey.

I've dumped Mediatransfer, Just the Answer, Canvasse, ACOP to name a few as giving too little reward for too much work. Pureprofile I find mindnumbingly boring and hardly ever log on these days. Surveys.com hardly ever come up with surveys but I do clock up ipoints by clicking through to their offers.

Never managed to find the elusive Pinecone banner but have recently got onto GFK. Pleased with the latter because I do enjoy giving my views on TV and Radio (much like I enjoy Yougov because I enjoy giving my view on current affairs).

I fit into the professional, no kids, demographic so I'm sure that means I get fewer of lot of a partiular type of survey and more of others. I do seem to get quite a lot of business and travel related ones and not many household goods ones...

I've not had many unwanted calls but I hardly ever give my phone number when I sign up. I'm not sure how to stop them if you'e signed up with your number (because the telephone preference service won't work if you'e agreed to the marketing) however I find the following is quite satisfying:

Telesales Bod: Can I speak to Mary Bloggs, please?

Me: Oh, she's just in the garden, hang on, I'll tell her

    wait...wait...wait...

Me: She's on her way, hang on

    wait... wait...

Me: She's just coming, hold on...I know she really wants to talk to you..

and just leave the hone off the hook

Alternatively, just blow a whistle down the phone.

To be honest, the main survey companies shouldn't be calling you. Have you tried subscribing to these companies:

    Yougov
    Ipsos
    Globaltestmarket
    Lightspeed
    TNS
    Test and Vote
    Ciao
    Valued Opinions
Yeah, whatever. I'm a grown up, I can take it...

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts I've been Money Tipped!
I've had a few calls from Ipos over the last couple of years. No problem though ... normally just a few questions and sometimes an offer to send me a sample of something to try out and report back.
    Wins since 2009 = £17,600

    MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS
